The release of Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater from a Denver hospital occurred Monday morning. He’s now under the guidelines of the NFL’s concussion protocol. Bridgewater suffered a vicious hit Sunday evening and was taken from the stadium by an ambulance. Bridgewater was knocked unconscious following him running the ball midway through the third quarter.

“I just spoke to him a few minutes ago,” Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said late Monday morning . “He’s been released and is now at home, resting comfortably. He sounded much better this morning compared to last night when he sounded really tired. I just spoke to him this morning, and he sounded a lot better.”
Fangio is not in favor of playing Bridgewater Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the Broncos aren’t considering putting Bridgewater on IR for the remaining three weeks of the season, at least for now. Many are expecting the backup quarterback Drew Lock to start against the Raiders. He may even potentially start for the remainder of the season.

After the vicious hit, the Denver Broncos medical staff ran onto the field to Bridgewater’s emotionless body. They took him off the field on a cart strapped to a backboard. Bridgewater later was transported by ambulance to a local Denver hospital. Bridgewater went 12 of 22 for 98 yards in the game before the horrid play occurred. This Sunday, Bridgewater suffering from a concussion is the second this year.
