Watch: Jordan Hollywood X Lil Baby – “Let Me Find Out”

2

Today 25-year-old rapper-singer-songwriter and Broward Country native, Jordan Hollywood releases the music video for his Quality Control Music debut single “ Let Me Find Out” featuring Lil Baby.

The video features cameos from Offset and QC head-honcho Pee!  Watch as Jordan settles into his adopted home of West End Atlanta where he hangs with the neighborhood’s finest. A trap house is turned into a hot spot for tattooing, dancing, and throwing away your money for entertainment.

Jordan decided to shoot his first video in Atlanta to show love for the city and his newfound QC family. “It finds Hollywood turning up in the West End neighborhood of Atlanta, where he and his crew have transformed a front yard into a makeshift casino.” -COMPLEX

Jordan has been in the game as a co-writer for French Montana, Jason Derulo, and more. He also spent time ghostwriting for different rappers. Jordan has been releasing music since 2011 and has collaborated with Yo Gotti, Tory Lanez, Lil Durk, Bam Savage, and platinum record making producer Smash David (Big Sean, Khalid, Chris Brown).

HotNewHipHop praised his songwriting ability, “Jordan Hollywood is one of those songwriters who lurks in the shadows and cranks out hits.” In 2016 Jordan dropped his critically acclaimed album Sorry For This which includes his biggest hit to date “Trill Shit”. Now with “Let Me Find Out” Jordan is ready to pave his own lane in the industry. Jordan has an EP on the horizon –which he engineered all of the songs on-.

The multi-versed rapper-singer-songwriter gained momentum through releasing music online since he was a teenager. He comes from the diverse Broward County, the same area that spawned a slew of rappers from Kodak Black, Smokepurpp, Lil Pump, and the late XXXTENTACION.

“Jordan is a very talented creative artist who’s very in tuned with the process being great. I’m excited for the world to experience his work,” said Coach K on Jordan’s signing. Pee added, “Jordan has an eye for detail that causes his visions to come to life. We look forward to the release of his project as we expand the QC brand.”

“Let Me Find Out” is eclectic and smooth as Jordan croons and raps about leaving behind the fake ones and sticking with your real ones. Lil Baby’s soft-swagger tone complements the trance-like melody and Jordan’s fluid flow.

Here’s Is Why You Should Be Watching Black Lighting

The people of Freeland need a hero that they can put their faith in. A violent gang called the 100 is constantly terrorizing the community. An addictive drug, green light, is ravaging the youth. The police do nothing to protect the citizens of Freeland. That’s why Black Lighting has returned after almost a decade of retirement. If you have free time Tuesday night at 9 pm, you should check out Black Lighting as this hero brings justice to his community.

Should Be Watching Black Lighting-1

Black Lighting follows Jefferson Pierce, a high school principal and community leader in Freeland. Pierce was once the voltaic hero Black Lighting. However, after a confrontation with his archenemy, Tobias Whale, Jeff decided to hang up the mask. Nine years past and Freeland seemed to be doing fine without Black Lighting. Though, in reality, gangs were rising to power and corruption was spreading throughout the city. Eventually, Jeff is pulled back into the life of a vigilante and takes up the electric mantle of Black Lighting again, to save his community.

Comic book related media is everywhere these days. There are some many costume vigilantes in movies and television that recycle the same cliche themes that audiences have constantly seem. Black Lighting is different from the rest of them. On the show, black people are not just sidekicks to make the main character not appear racist. Rather, black people are the center of the series. Black Lighting gives one of the best explorations into black issues on television. From police brutality to the CIA funneling drugs into the black community, the show presents discord about the problems that the black community faces. These depictions do not just last for an episode either.  Black Lighting makes black issues the axis of the plot. By doing this, the show declares that black issues matter and they deserve to be talked about.

Should Be Watching Black Lighting-2

Black Lighting also gives an accurate portrayal of the black community. When black people talk, they actually use black slang correctly. Certain aspects of the community are not dramatized or given more focus than the other ones. Black Lighting shows every part of the black community and gives a realistic depiction of how they function.  The series gives the black community respect, showing its struggles and its strength too.

Black Lighting does not focus on one type of black person either. The series shows all different kinds of black people. It shows the black teacher who is trying to keep kids off the street. It shows the black cops who want to protect their community. The series gives us the black gangsters who are not necessarily bad but just trying to survive. Black Lighting depicts all the different ways that black people function in blackness and does so well.

Black Lighting is a show that’s worth checking out. It just might be the best black related superhero show on television.

“I wanted to write a quick few words for you to read explaining my mental state when recording & filming ‘Suicide’. We’ve all had moments in life that truly challenged our worth and want to be here. I learned to talk about and express my emotions, which helped to properly release those feelings, and that burden of wanting to end it all. That helped me at my weakest point in life. WATCH: Lupe Fiasco Performs Live Version of “Mural Jr.”

Vevo has today released Lupe Fiasco’s live video for “Mural Jr.” with a very special performance shot under the Manhattan side of the Williamsburg Bridge. “Mural Jr.” is part of Vevo’s performance series that helps artists to connect with audiences in a different way with intimate, stripped-down videos. By seeing the music through this different prism, audiences are allowed a rare, intimate look at their creative vision.

“Mural Jr.” is the closing track of Fiasco’s September 2018 album DROGAS Wave. Praised as his “most ambitious and uncompromising album yet”, and includes features from Damian Marley, Nikki Jean and more. Fiasco explained to COMPLEX that “Drogas Wave is based on a story about a group of slaves that jumped off of a slave ship transporting them from Africa. The slaves did not drown, and instead somehow managed to live under the sea. They spent the rest of their underwater existence sinking slave ships. ‘Drogas’ is the Spanish word for drugs. I made it an acronym which stands for ‘Don’t Ruin Us God Said.’” “Mural Jr.” in particular is described as an example of the “sprawling lyricism we have come to expect from the 36-year-old verbal technician” (DJBooth). Lupe Fiasco’s DROGAS Wave is out now on all streaming services. Keep up with exclusive content from artists all over the world on youtube.com/VEVO.

WATCH: Tayla Parx Drops Mesmeric New Visual “Slow Dancing”

1

3x GRAMMY® Award-nominated recording artist Tayla Parx recently released her single/companion visual “Me Vs. Us” following an exclusive premiere via Complex. Co-produced by Parx, Haze, and xSDTRK, “Me Vs. Us” showcases Parx’s ability to harmonize effortlessly while describing what it feels like to choose between loving someone more than you love yourself. The multi-platinum certified singer-songwriter-producer’s upcoming project, entitled WE NEED TO TALK will be her major label release following the debut of her solo mixtape TAYLA MADE.

Last Thursday evening during the Tayla Parx Pop Up Experience at The Microsoft Lounge in LA, TAYLA PARX dropped visuals for her new track “Slow Dancing” off her forthcoming project “We Need To Talk.” The TAYLA MADE POP-UP EXPERIENCE hosted by Tayla herself, was not only a cool moment for fans to dive into all things Tayla, but she also surprised attendees by performing tracks off the upcoming project including an exclusive listening/viewing of her new track/video “Slow Dancing.”

“Slow Dancing” is Tayla’s ultimate carefree revelation, in music form. Although her younger “tomboy” self-had thoughts of never falling in love and indulging in things that normal girls would fall for, she realizes she is in fact a typical girl and enjoys “diamonds and pearls…slow dancin’, romancin’…”

Watch: Warhol.ss – “With Ease”

1

Able to switch on a dime from burbling melodies to percussive bars, Chicago’s Warhol.SS is one of the most skilled rhymers of the SoundCloud era. After years of building a massive fanbase through streaming and social media, Warhol prepares to drop Chest Painshis upcoming debut album. Combining immersive trap-style beats and energetic ad-libs with an old-school sense of songwriting and slick lyricism, Chest Pains finds the 20-year-old Warhol.SS coming to his own, unifying his experimental ideas and his commercial ambitions.

Though the album boasts gorgeous production and infectious hooks, Warhol.SS imbues the project with heavy symbolism–with a title referring to his rough upbringing in Chicago and an album cover featuring bumble bees, reflecting Warhol’s status as the “last of a dying breed.” Featuring appearances from Trippie ReddHoodrich Pablo Juan, Rico Nasty, UnoTheActivist, and Lil Duke, with production from the likes of Murda Beatz, Kenny Beats, Cashmoney AP, Harry Fraud, and others, Chest Pains arrives on November 14th via EMPIRE.

Warhol.SS explains the meaning behind the album title: “There’s been a lot lot I’ve had to endure, growing up in the South side of Chicago. No one knows all the obstacles, but it’s just a fact. I take shit to the chest, whether it’s bad, whether it’s good. I’m taking it like a man and moving along. The ups and downs all come with the bigger picture of success. I feel like I’m the last of a dying breed. My father taught me to respect everyone the same, from the janitor to homeless people to CEOs. I think I’m the only one of my generation who tries to do that.”

To accompany the announcement of the mixtape, Warhol shares “With Ease,” the project’s lead single. Propelled by a spritely piano riff, courtesy of producer Cashmoney AP, “With Ease” is a bouncy flexer’s anthem, with Warhol stacking melodic and boastful rhymes into the beat’s negative spaces. Premiered by Complex, “With Ease” is anchored by one of Warhol’s most infectious hooks–an auto-tuned slurry of excess and self-confidence.

Born on Chicago’s East Side, Warhol.SS grew up in a music-loving family, with a mother who loved Erykah Badu and a father who loved MF DOOM. Inspired by his city’s famous “Class of 2012” drill rappers, Warhol started making music in high school, jumping headfirst into the game after graduation. In 2016, Warhol.SS shared the video for “Speed Racer,” directed by then-newcomer Cole Bennett, who posted the video on his YouTube channel, Lyrical Lemonade.

A head-spinning video even by Bennett’s standards, the video shrunk Warhol down to the size of a model car as he floated through a psychedelic landscape, introducing the world to Warhol and racking up over 2.8 million views in the process. Since releasing “Speed Racer,” Warhol has been one of the most in-demand names of rap’s digital youth, collaborating with the likes of Trippie Redd, Rich The Kid, Ski Mask The Slump God, Famous Dex, ThouxbanFauni, and many more, dropping Warhol ’16 and Where’s Warhol, a pair of seven-track mixtapes, and building a reputation as an exceptional rhymer. With Chest Pains, Warhol.SS looks to parlay his internet notoriety into IRL fame.

Watch: OMB Peezy X OMB IceBerg – Deeper Than You Think

1

Few emcees pack as much street wisdom into a 16-bar verse as OMB Peezy, a 20-year-old prodigy with the soul of a veteran. Offering a glimpse into the inner life of a street soldier, Peezy shares “Deeper Than You Think,” his new video. “Deeper Than You Think” finds Peezy searching within himself, revealing the complicated explanation for his bad behavior: “Me and my brother was stugglin hustling, tryna get us a lil meal/lLotta these n***** be rappin bout livin that shit, we was in it for real/lotta these n***** be rappin bout livin that shit, just to get em a deal.”

In the video, Peezy plans a robbery, breaking into an enemy’s home and finding himself a fugitive from the law when the operation goes south. Featuring an appearance from OMB IceBerg, “Deeper Than You Think” is the latest video to be released from Loyalty Over Love, his recent mixtape, following the revealing clip for the tape’s opener “Venting Session” and the L.A. Leakers-premiered clip for the closing track Mind of Overkill.”

Nearly two years after his debut single “Lay Down” put Peezy on the map, the motormouthed emcee shared Loyalty Over Lovehis debut solo full-length mixtape, in Summer 2018. Stuffed with glistening Dirty South instrumentals, Loyalty Over Love is the culmination of Peezy’s rise, with sharp lyrics about his life as a rising star and his struggles with the legal system.

Whether he’s seething at inept law enforcement on the Noisey-premiered Fuck My P.O.,” fiercely asserting his individuality and independence within an oppressive system on “Souljah Life Mentality,” enjoying the spoils of his success in the TK Kravitz-featuring “Yeah Yeah,” mourning lost friends in “My Dawg,” recently given the music video treatment to the tune of 223k views on YouTube, or paying tribute to the West Coast with the Dr. Dre-referencing and Donny Hathaway-sampling “Ghetto Boy.”

Peezy is a magnetic presence, weaving his threats and boasts around hot instrumentals. Featuring additional appearances from Mozzy, Paper Lovee, and OMB Iceberg, Loyalty Over Love arrives via Sick Wid It Records/300 Ent. Earlier this summer, Peezy treated fans to another revealing glimpse when he shared Behind The Title: Loyalty Over Love, a FADER-premiered mini-doc that explains the main themes behind the album.
