ASAP Rocky is going to explode into the music world once more with his highly-anticipated album, “DONT BE DUMB,” on August 30, 2024. This was a follow-up to the 2018 critically acclaimed album “Testing,” which came out six years ago. The most far-reaching gossips, however, surround the huge collaboration between ASAP and hip-hop heavyweight J. Cole the first between them in more than ten years.
The last time these two collaborated wasn’t on “1 Train” off Rocky’s debut album, but on the remix to Justin Timberlake’s “TKO” in 2013. It has just been such a long time in coming, and with this, people shall salivate over whether the new music does live up to what they put in place with their prior work.
The same collaboration was announced at Rocky’s American Sabotage fashion show during Paris Fashion Week as he previewed some of the album tracks. Chic, bold, and imaginative designs heralded a subtle reveal of what Rocky is putting forward with his new music, overall serving up more excitement toward “DONT BE DUMB.”
While having a collaboration with J. Cole is one major highlight, the album is said to have a diverse set of features, though nobody else other than Cole has been confirmed so far. The six-year hiatus since his previous album allowed Rocky to grow musically, and he claims “DONT BE DUMB” includes it. The fans are keenly waiting for what his sound has matured into and where he would take them with this new direction in music.
