Pop superstar Ariana Grande has finally put long-standing plastic surgery rumors to bed with an extremely candid Vanity Fair interview. The singer, along with her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, took a lie detector test in which she was asked directly about speculation surrounding her appearance. From nose jobs to facelifts, Grande firmly denied ever undergoing any major procedures-and the lie detector checked out that she was telling the truth.
The relief finally came, and Grande celebrated triumphantly:
“This is the best day of my life. Take that, you YouTube people!”
This comment was for all the YouTubers and plastic surgery experts who have long made speculations about her looks, touting rumors of cosmetic enhancements such as a Brazilian butt lift or chin implant. The test results proved she had none of those procedures.
While at the same time, Grande has been open about her past use of Botox and fillers.
“I stopped about four years ago,”
she’s spoken on the matter.
“I support people doing those things. It just wasn’t something that was going to make me so happy every time I had the opportunity to do it.”
“I live in full support of all people who do these things. Whatever makes women, men, non-gender conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”
Grande emphasized during her candid interview.

But what really resonated was her heartfelt, personal remarks regarding the beauty industry. Grande spoke to how beauty, for a period of time, meant “hiding” for her, though now-quit Botox and fillers allow her to embrace the natural process of aging.
“I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines,”
she said, concluding,
“I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper.”
That interview went viral in no time, bringing a wave of reactions on social media. Immediately, her fans started praising Grande for being so candid with the interview. Many just loved how sure she was of herself.
“She’s so cuteee I love her so much,”
one fan tweeted, adding,
“And just like that, she ended them allegations.”
Of course, not every reaction was positive. Critics also mentioned that by participating in cosmetic enhancements in the past, Grande contributed to unrealistic beauty standards. Still, many others saw her honesty about aging and personal choice as one step in the right direction.
Although Grande clarified her present stand on cosmetic procedures, she didn’t simply state that she would never have a try again in the future. Smiling, she said,
“Now, might I get a facelift in 10 years? Maybe, yeah. But these are just thoughts I feel like we should be able to discuss.”
