AMC has just rolled out the latest collectible pop bucket for Dune: Part Three, and people are freaking out online. There are two mouths of the sandworm sculpted side-by-side in one bucket so that both people can enjoy their popcorn together. The chain believes that the sharing experience will be fun for its consumers. Those who have memories of 2024 are having flashbacks.
The lineup unveiled October 29, 2026, centers on two headline pieces. The Double Sandworm gives each person their own opening. The Sandworm Thumper features a single worm mouth plus a working mechanism modeled on the Fremen device that pounds the sand to call the creatures. AMC says the thumper actually moves. Both come filled with a large popcorn.
Also in the collection: an Atreides-Fremen light-up cup, a Spacing Guild Navigator cup, mystery keychains, and a sandworm plush. Everything is exclusive to AMC theaters in the United States and ODEON locations in Europe. AMC is advertising the merchandise for December 17, 2026, one day before the film’s December 18 theatrical release. Prices have not been announced.
Hank Green, AMC’s senior vice president of food and beverage, put it plainly:
“The AMC Sandworm popcorn bucket for ‘Dune: Part Two’ became a viral phenomenon, and we knew that ‘Dune’ fans would have high expectations for what came next. From the moment we started planning the ‘Dune: Part Three’ collectibles, our goal was to exceed those fan expectations. The Sandworm Thumper and Double Sandworm collectibles take the experience to the next level with designs straight from the movie.”
That 2024 original became an instant meme because of its suggestive look. It sparked endless online jokes, heavy media coverage, collector demand, and a full Saturday Night Live sketch. AMC appears ready to lean into the same conversation this time around rather than shy away from it.
Dune: Part Three, directed by Denis Villeneuve, wraps his trilogy by adapting elements of Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya return in the lead roles. The merchandise drop is timed to ride the wave of anticipation for the December 18 opening.
AMC is once again betting that unusual, conversation-starting concession items will pull fans into theaters and keep the buzz going right up to opening weekend. The Double Sandworm is already doing its job.
