Adrien Broner, a 34-year-old boxer, shot his shot at rap star Coi Leray, 26, during her Instagram Live on Tuesday, April 16th. Broner commented on Leray’s live, saying, “I’m on your body!” and inviting her to his next fight in Miami on May 31st at the Hard Rock.
Leray was not impressed and quickly shut him down, saying,
“Trying to bag me on Instagram Live is crazy. Like dead a**. Get the fck on. Okay. Like, that’s fckin’ corny. I’m not interested. What the fck are we doing here? I’m going. I’m getting the fck off of here. Look at my post. I’m about to post my cover. Bye, ya’ll. I love you.”

It is not a simple gave-not-given situation. Leray’s reaction was far from momentary silence but rather a response to the statement of the standards for herself and the conditions of a respectful approach to her persona. Leray’s reaction has found a response in many users, signaling that mutual respect and interest are necessary for any offers.
However, this is not the end of the story. Broner later posted on his Instagram Story that it was done to promote himself before the fight in the future. If so, it’s a marketing move, but its effectiveness is not as high as intended. Shimmy’s firm response covers any legal ground from another angle and creates unnecessary problems for the fighter.
The Shade Room got the entire conversation and posted it on Instagram, where it was widely ridiculed. A user wrote,
“I’m on your body? Like Lotion Sir? Like sunscreen? Who says that? One defender advised fellow fans to give Broner a break, arguing, “I see some people calling him corny for what he said… But he shot his shot.”
Broner has been caught before sending messages to the DMs of famous women on Twitter. GloRilla shared a tweet with screenshots alleging Broner reached out to her in January despite being with his fiancee. Bhad Bhabie revealed that he was in her DMs in 2020 when she was 16. In an interview with Vlad, Broner claimed he wasn’t aware of Bhad Bhabie’s age.
Leray, on the other hand, is still in her musical career. She signed a new deal with Island Records and released her latest hit, “Wanna Come Thru.” Additionally, she made it to Coachella for the weekend and is prepping to star in an animated film made by Pharrell Williams. Finally, Broner plans to battle Blair Cobbs at the Seminole Hard Rock in Miami on May 31st.
