Dreamy keys give way to a thick beat and a steady bass groove as ADÉ and Wale deliver a rap master class between a hypnotic high-register hook and a catchy chant. Together, they shoot down jealousy one bar at a time. In the visual, the two D.C. titans stand back-to-back surrounded by a posse of onlookers and models as they ponder, “Can’t understand why you feel some way.

Says ADÉ, “the song fits perfectly into the picture I’m painting with the wyd after? project. I do most of my ‘living’ at night. Being a recording artist, I’m always at shows, parties, events, etc. which, more often than not, happen in the night time. So, that’s when most of the interesting shit happens in my life. I talk about what it’s been like navigating through the good times, the tough times and my relationships while living the nightlife. The question ‘what you doing after?’ is the crossroads I usually come to most nights. After being asked ‘wyd after?’ I can either end my night, or find more trouble to get into.”

    Previous Work

ADÉ paved the way for wyd after? with a string of scorching singles and music videos. Most recently, he released the single “Replacements,” along with an official music video, which HotNewHipHop dubbed it a “banger” and proclaimed that ADÉ “is maintaining his era of reinvention...” He announced the EP earlier this Spring with the Trevor Jackson-featuring “Don’t Cry” [feat. Trevor Jackson], along which also arrived with an official visual. Elsewhere on the EP, he slides from laidback rhymes into resounding melodies on “Out The Way” before flexing fiery rhymes and one more airtight chorus on the finale “GGBB.”
