Carlos Mauricio GĂłmez, the Salvadoran streamer known as El Komanche, was found dead in a rented home in Monterrey, Mexico, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, according to his representative and multiple media reports.
GĂłmez, 30, was located without vital signs in a residence on Paseo de Niza in the Paseo de Cumbres neighborhood. Neighbors had noticed the front door left open since the previous day. Property owners entered the home out of concern for a possible robbery and discovered the body of a man estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old. Emergency crews, police and investigators responded around 7:30 p.m. local time. Initial reports noted no visible signs of violence at the scene.
Byron Reyes, a content-creator manager based in El Salvador who worked with GĂłmez, confirmed the death after speaking with the family. In Instagram Stories, Reyes first reacted to circulating reports and later stated the news was confirmed. He posted farewell messages recalling their friendship, unfinished joint projects that included plans for a boxing event in El Salvador, and the impact GĂłmez had as a representative of his home country.
Reyes also wrote that “bullying at any scale is not a game.” The FiscalĂa de Nuevo LeĂłn has not issued a public statement confirming the identity of the person found or the cause of death. The circumstances remain under investigation.
Gómez was born on September 27, 1996, in San Sebastián, San Vicente, El Salvador. He began streaming on Twitch in 2015 and built a large following through gaming content. At the time of the reports he had roughly 1.7 million followers on Twitch, more than 880,000 on Instagram and a presence on Kick. He co-organized the popular Squid Craft Games Minecraft events alongside Spanish streamers AuronPlay and El Rubius, collaborated with fellow Salvadoran creator Fernanfloo, and had been linked to other high-profile projects including a potential appearance in Ibai Llanos’ La Velada boxing event that was later canceled.
In January 2026 he stepped away from Twitch after a series of platform sanctions and conflicts. Years earlier he had spoken publicly about mental health challenges, including a suicide attempt in 2023 and subsequent therapy. On October 19, six days before the discovery, he posted on X: “Los dĂas simplemente no mejoran” (“The days simply don’t get better”). The short message later drew millions of views once news of his death spread.
As of Monday, authorities in Nuevo LeĂłn continued their investigation. No official cause of death has been released.
