Justin Bieber Joins Shakira, Madonna & BTS for FIFA World Cup Halftime Show

FIFA has confirmed that Justin Bieber is joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS as a co-headliner for the inaugural halftime show at the 2026 World Cup Final.

The announcement, made on July 8, adds the Canadian pop superstar to what is already one of the most ambitious crossover lineups in recent memory. The performance is set for Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey as part of the tournament final between the United States, Canada and Mexico-hosted event.

According to details released by FIFA, the 11-minute production—curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin—will blend pop, Latin, K-pop and Afrobeats influences in a fast-paced, Super Bowl-style spectacle. In addition to the four co-headliners, the show will feature Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus performing with Coldplay, and special appearances by Sesame Street and Muppets characters.

The halftime show supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for children’s education and access to football programs worldwide. Over $50 million has already been generated, including through $1 donations from every World Cup ticket sold. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the initiative’s focus, stating, “When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education.”

Bieber shared his reaction in a statement: “The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

Burna Boy, who teamed with Shakira on the official tournament track “Dai Dai,” also commented: “The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly brings the entire world together. To represent Africa on the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly.”

Madonna, Shakira and BTS were announced as co-headliners in mid-May. Bieber’s last-minute addition has intensified online buzz, with fans celebrating the generational and global scope of the lineup while noting the logistical challenge of fitting such star power into a tight 11-minute window.

The move continues FIFA’s push to elevate the entertainment value of the World Cup final, traditionally lighter on halftime performances than the NFL’s championship game. Produced in partnership with Global Citizen, the show is expected to reach a massive worldwide audience when it airs live on July 19.
