Ice Spice Reaches Out to Fat Joe Following L.A. Altercation

Ice Spice was involved in a physical altercation at a McDonald’s on Vine Street in Hollywood in the early morning hours of April 15, according to video footage obtained and published by TMZ.

The Bronx-born rapper, whose real name is Isis Gaston, was dining inside the fast-food restaurant with a friend when a woman identified as Vayah approached their booth. The interaction turned verbal before Vayah slapped Ice Spice, prompting the artist to jump up, shout and leap across tables in pursuit as the scuffle spilled outside into the street and parking area. Additional footage showed further chaos, including Ice Spice reportedly smashing a phone, per reports.

Ice Spice’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, called the incident an “unprovoked attack” in a statement to multiple outlets. He confirmed that the team has reported the matter to the Los Angeles Police Department and is pursuing criminal charges against Vayah. No arrests have been reported as of April 18.

Vayah told TMZ that she approached Ice Spice to “show love” and offer a compliment but claimed the rapper was rude in response, which led to the slap. Ice Spice herself has not issued a detailed public statement on the matter, though she shared a lighthearted post on social media referencing the incident while teasing new music.

The surveillance video captured inside the McDonald’s, which TMZ released on April 17, has circulated widely online.

Separately, a rumor began circulating April 17 on X claiming that Ice Spice had reached out to fellow Bronx native Fat Joe (Joseph Cartagena) following the altercation. The post, which originated from the account @HoopsCrave and included the alleged quote “We from The Bronx. We don’t play around,” quickly spread across social media and generated numerous memes referencing shared Bronx pride and New York hip-hop culture.

However, there has been no confirmation of any contact between Ice Spice and Fat Joe from either artist, their representatives or mainstream outlets. Fat Joe has not publicly addressed the incident.

Ice Spice, known for hits including “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Deli,” frequently reps her Bronx roots in her music and public persona. The altercation marks the latest high-profile celebrity incident to draw widespread online attention.
