16-Year-Old Rapper Robbed on Live Stream

On 21st July 2024, a 16-year-old Alabama rapper, Lil Woadie, real name Anthony Beverly, was purportedly robbed of his chain and watch as he performed a Facebook Live stream. The incident, which became viral following X user @WorldDarkWeb2 sharing about it on 6th July 2025, has been a central subject of discussion following the sharing and broadcast by Instagram and YouTube platforms.

Lil Woadie, a rising star in the hip-hop scene since age 12, has a track record of a lively social media existence, regularly conversing with the fan base via live sessions. The viral video that followed captures the increasing popularity and the danger of public life for the young artist.

The robbery took place in Alabama, though the exact place is not disclosed. While livestreaming the 21st of July, 2024, Lil Woadie was displaying jewelry and talking with the fans, asking the females what they liked. A masked man wearing a hood approached him, immediately taking his chain and watch, and running away. Lil Woadie, audibly shocked, exclaimed,

“Oh man, that’s what we doing. Nigga just jacked me!”

as he drove off. He later offered a $5,000 reward on Facebook for information on the robber, identified by some users as @slime_f5ivee on Instagram, though this remains unconfirmed.

There were no public statements by major artists or influencers, yet the conversations on TikTok and Reddit centered on youth safety and “clout chasing.” The hashtag #LilWoadieRobbery came about, spreading sympathy and arguments about the role of social media in such incidents.

This heist resembles others such as Wakko the Kidd, shot in 2022 after flaunting a chain valued at $80,000, and 2 Chainz, robbed back in 2013. Authorities indicate that livestreaming wealth can solicit crime, as the LAPD found a 18% rise in target robberies related to social media in 2022. The crime demonstrates the danger of livestreaming to minors without effective regulation, as a 2023 report by the Pew Research found 42% of teens are pushed to portray wealth online, exposing them to risk.

Lil Woadie had his chain as well as his watch stolen when he was robbed while livestreaming on 21 Jul 2024, with actual video proof. Police responses as well as the identity of the thief are yet to be made public. The event highlights the need for online security for young artists, avoiding the display of wealth online in real-time. As online celebrity increases, risk increases, which sees platforms and caretakers put up stronger forms of protection for the youth.
