DJ Khaled & 6ix9ine Receive Mysterious Black Coffins at Their Homes

Two prominent hip-hop artists, DJ Khaled and Tekashi 6ix9ine, received black coffins in their respective homes in Florida within a matter of a week, with messages inscribed on them in connection with beef in hip-hop. The death-related gifts, a matter of a matter of days apart, left onlookers and officials aghast, with eyebrows raised over beef gone wrong in hip-hop.

The first incident was on February 13, where rapper 6ix9ine, no stranger to controversy, woke up in Florida and saw a black coffin in front of his house. Spray-painted in bold letters on the coffin was “RIP King Von” and “RIP OBlock,” a reference to deceased Chicago rapper King Von, who was murdered in 2020, and the Chicago neighborhood where Von’s gang was based. The old feud between Von and 6ix9ine, who trolled and trash-talked even in death, would later turn out to have been the cause of the ghastly move.

Security footage captured two men arriving in a Tesla, posing as delivery workers, before departing the coffin. When police and a bomb squad investigated, they found only a bottle of hand sanitizer inside—a bizarre twist to an already unsettling scene.

Just two days later, on February 15, DJ Khaled faced a similar shock at his Miami home. Two individuals left a black coffin in a truck claiming to be from a delivery service, bearing the messages “RIP OVO” and “RIP Drake.” The references point to Drake’s Very Own label and the artist himself, signaling tension between Khaled and his former collaborator.

Earlier this month when Drake denied being featured on Khaled’s upcoming album, Aalam of God, a stark contrast to their history of hits like “I’m On One” and “Popstar.” Adding to the oddity, the delivery duo knelt in prayer before leaving, as captured by Khaled’s security, who promptly destroyed the coffin.

Despite the alarming nature of these incidents, law enforcement has taken a hands-off approach. The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, after inspecting 6ix9ine’s coffin, made no arrests and closed the case, citing no immediate threat. Similarly, Miami police were notified of Khaled’s delivery but have not launched an investigation, especially after his team demolished the coffin.

“At this point, we’re treating it as a non-criminal matter unless new evidence suggests otherwise,”

a police source told TMZ.

The rappers’ reactions couldn’t be more different. Tekashi 6ix9ine, ever the provocateur, shrugged off the incident with a quip to TMZ:

“I wanted to keep the King Von coffin and sleep in it to feel what it’s like to be him for a day, but the cops took it.”

True to form, he turned the moment into another jab at his rivals. DJ Khaled, however, has remained silent, with his team’s swift destruction of the coffin suggesting a more serious stance—perhaps unsurprising given his typically positive public image clashing with this dark delivery.

Speculation is rife among fans and media. Some point to the timing—6ix9ine’s delivery on the 13th, Khaled’s on the 15th—as evidence of coordinated pranks or retaliatory acts tied to their respective beefs. Others wonder if it’s a twisted publicity stunt, though neither artist has hinted at orchestrating the events. On social platforms like X, reactions range from concern

“This is getting out of hand in hip-hop”

to dark humor…..

“6ix9ine probably sent it to himself”.
