When the leaked footage of “Fantastic Four: First Steps” hit the internet some time ago, it put the Marvel fandom on high alert and got many a tongue wagging. This footage was shown first at SDCC and afterward during D23 but has just been given to fans in much better quality, allowing them to relish every last thrilling moment in preparation for when it eventually releases. Anticipation has been rife for this release, becoming a perspective on how Marvel’s First Family brings out this story.
The “Fantastic Four: First Steps” trailer was initially seen by attendees at SDCC, but the quality of the first leaked version left much to be desired. Fortunately, a far clearer and more vibrant teaser was unveiled at D23 and has since found its way online to the delight of fans worldwide.

The footage sends us back a bit further into the retro 1960s setting, offering fresh spin for the Fantastic Four origin story. It gives it a feel like an old film being pulled from the archives and set to play in that era. With that nostalgic touch present, the Fantastic Four are portrayed as astronauts and major celebrities of their time. We don’t get to see them in full superhero action, but there is an interesting silhouette of the Thing and intriguing first glimpses of the ominous Galactus and H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot.
Cast and Characters
“Fantastic Four: First Steps” has an all-star cast that brings these lovable characters back to life in ways we’ve never seen.
- Reed Richards is played by none other than Pedro Pascal, acting master of depth and charisma.
- Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) is played by Vanessa Kirby, powerful and graceful to Bits in that character.
- Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, radiates the screen with a possibly fiery presence and adds some energy to this team of superheroes.
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach has brought to life Ben Grimm, better known as The Thing—really setting the stage for his powerful and nuanced performance.
- Julia Garner debuts as Shala-Bal, the Silver Surfer, adding some newer dynamics to the storyline.
- The great villain, Galactus, is performed by Ralph Ineson, whose voice and presence suit the role perfectly to bring out the intimidating force across to the screen.
Besides the lead, there are some really interesting roles in store for Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne—the latter three of whom still have their characters kept under wraps.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has made it clear that “Fantastic Four: First Steps” takes place in another dimension to give storytellers a clean slate. However, this will not be Marvel’s First Family’s last regimes in the movie. The family is surely going to feature in other future MCU films, tipping sources close to the project like “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” detailing presumably further induction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The buzz for “Fantastic Four: First Steps” has never been higher. Not only does this film bring back the fan-favorite superhero team to the big screen, but it’s with a presentation that is entirely new and energizing as a part of the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe.
