Zion Williamson’s Child’s Mother Arrested for Allegedly Stalking Woman Linked to Him

Zion Williamson’s mother and Ahkeema Love, the mother of Williamson’s child, had been arrested this week in an eventful court spectacle that has gained public attention and contributed to the basketball megastar’s trail of off-court scandals.

Love, 31, was arrested on April 9 in Kenner, Louisiana, and is currently charged with several serious offenses — including home invasion, aggravated battery, and stalking. They are accused of committing an act of home invasion and physical attack against a woman who is thought to be Williamson’s romantic partner. The victim reportedly experienced physical harm in an attack that began with weeks-long harassment, police say.

The police reports indicate that Love had earlier vandalized the woman’s property on March 17 by egging her and made threatening messages through Instagram,

“Don’t worry, it’s going to be your head next when I drop this baby. Count your days.”

The confrontation apparently intensified on April 6 when Love is accused of entering the woman’s home by using a key without her allowing her to do so. She subsequently attacked the victim with keys tightly gripped in her hand and yanked her by the hair. The victim had visible wounds on her face above the eyes, facial swelling, and scratches on her face. The police added that four nails on the woman’s fingers were ripped off when the two fought.

After being arrested, Love was booked and subsequently released on a $50,000 bond. She was required to surrender her gun and forbidden to contact the victim under the conditions of her release. The Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office confirmed the case is still open but would not comment further.

Zion Williamson, the 24-year-old first overall pick by the Pelicans in 2019 who plays power forward in the NBA, has made no public comment on the incident. Williamson is recovering from an acute back injury earlier this month that put him out of league action in a pivotal part of the season.

While Williamson is not specifically mentioned in the court filings, records show that the attack happened on property reportedly belonging to him, and the woman who was attacked appears to be his current girlfriend. The attack has put Williamson’s personal life back in the spotlight once more, having made headlines intermittently with his work throughout the years.

During June 2023, just months after Love had announced that Williamson and she were having a child together, adult performer Moriah Mills and influencer Yamile Taylor both accused Williamson in public statements of having relationships with them simultaneously with Love. The drama went viral with both women complaining on social media and painting Williamson in an unfavorable context.

Love and Williamson had a daughter in 2023. Love had posted family-themed photos on social media more and more frequently during that period, including on the court with the Pelicans and with photos of Williamson himself. In March this season, she suggested on social media that there would be “another addition to our family,” although she did not name the father.

Social media jumped into action on the news almost immediately, with the story taking off on platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok. Some were concerned with the victim, to be sure, but others were more interested in the implications for Williamson and particularly with his absence from the court increasing with each passing day.

“This is just another distraction for Zion. He needs to concentrate on getting healthy and surrounding himself with better people,” one fan noted on X. Others accused the star of remaining quiet amid the escalating legal drama.

This is not the first occasion on which Williamson’s personal life has crossed with his professional reputation. From very public relationships to public scandals and to this current criminal charge concerning the mother of his child, the young star has been treading the complicated intersection of celebrity, family, and personal decision making.
