Recently, YSL Woody, a member of the YSL group, has been making waves online. This member is notorious for showing off his money in the most iced-out ways. Woody has, so far, gained quite a bad reputation after he turned star witness in the trial for the YSL group’s RICO charge. But recently, YSL Mondo, co-founder of the YSL group, seems to have a thing or two to say to Woody.
YSL Woody reportedly served as an informant for over 11 years, although his recent actions have wagged tongues in outrage. In one rather extensive interrogation video, he is captured, giving minute details of criminal activities concerning YSL and rival groups such as YFN Lucci. This does make many label him a “snitch,” which is the lighter of terms among the heavy stigma boxed into hip-hop culture.
YSL Woody went on Instagram Live to prove he was “outside.” Jumping in a car in the live video, flashing a duffle bag full of money, he exclaims,
“I be outside like the motherf*ckin’ sun”. He made clear he was responding to critics, notably YSL Mondo, though he did not say Mondo’s name. As was customary, Woody made his intentions quite known: “Y’all know how I’m coming. Pull up and get it!”

YSL Mondo was unamused. He went to Instagram Live to address the display by Woody. Mondo calmly said,
“You ain’t nowhere but in your surrounding area. Ain’t nowhere where I’m at”. He hounded Woody for showing posted-up money in his car, saying, “You ride around with every dime that you own on you. That ain’t no money my brother, go get you a bank account, my boy”
But Mondo’s response wasn’t over yet. He said that real people with any sense don’t respect Woody, regardless of how much cash he throws around.
“Real ngas ain’t respecting that boogie woogie as sht,” insisted Mondo. “Don’t let these small town street punks on the internet juice you up and make you think you a real nga. You can never be no more”
YSL Woody, who had been said to be an informant in the case, began testifying against several members. Among them was Young Thug. Many people in the community have perceived his actions as betrayal. Mondo doesn’t spare him some words as he continuously expresses his disgust for Woody’s decision to take the stand. The strong reaction of Mondo would also equally buoy the belief that cooperation undermines the collective integrity and loyalty of the members.
Mondo has also spoken against the legal system, but perhaps more precisely against Fani Willis, the DA handling the case in RICO. He even revealed that Willis was his old defense attorney before she got on with the prosecution. Mondo says this switch feels like a betrayal, reflecting a larger problem with trust and loyalty in the legal environment. He said he was close with Willis, making her actions against the YSL members feel super personal and hypocritical.
Recent allegations against YSL Woody’s cooperation with law enforcement, amidst sworn testimony against his comrades, do not help the outlook for future brand perception either. Many of his fans and supporters perceive such an act as betrayal and can soil the collective image as a unit that was glued together.
This perception is compounded by Mondo amassing verbal shots at Woody that show some inner battle and division within YSL. These public fights from collaborative teams usually lead to losing credibility and trust among fans and collaborators, inadvertently pushing the brand name down in music industry circles.
The feud also debates leniency deals and cooperation with law enforcement in light of the ongoing RICO case. Public figures and fans have voiced their opinion on what such actions spell for the brand YSL’s integrity and the greater hip-hop culture. It has shed light on how complex loyalty issues are, especially in high-stakes legal battles, and polarized public opinion about the YSL collective.
