A stray bullet from a road rage dispute in Glendale, Arizona, claimed the life of beloved social media influencer Yarely Ashley Hermosillo on August 15, 2025, leaving her family and fans heartbroken. The 27-year-old, known for her vibrant cooking and lifestyle content, was riding in an SUV with her boyfriend, young son, and mother when a shot was fired during an unrelated altercation, striking her in the head. Despite being rushed to a Phoenix hospital, Hermosillo passed away shortly after midnight on August 16. Glendale police identified 33-year-old Jesus Preciado Dousten as the suspect, arresting him on August 16. He faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, misconduct involving weapons, illegal firearm possession, and endangerment. Authorities set his bond at $1 million.
Police recovered two handguns during a search of a Phoenix home Dousten visited after the shooting, and he was apprehended at his apartment near 43rd and Glendale avenues. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a heated road rage argument between Dousten, driving a white GMC Sierra pickup truck, and another driver in a separate truck. The two were yelling at each other while heading east on Camelback Road. When they stopped at a red light, Dousten allegedly pulled out a handgun, aimed it out his driver’s side window, and fired a single shot in a random direction.
That bullet struck Hermosillo’s SUV, which was stopped in the left lane, uninvolved in the dispute. Glendale Police Sergeant Brian Hoskins called the act reckless, stressing the importance of responsible gun ownership in a busy city.
Hermosillo, a stay-at-home mom with over 300,000 followers on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, was celebrated for her engaging baking and lifestyle videos. Her final TikTok post showed her shopping for groceries at Target, a glimpse into the everyday moments that endeared her to fans.
Her family described her as a loving wife, devoted mother, and radiant soul who touched countless lives. She leaves behind her husband, a 3-—or 4-year-old son, her mother, and siblings. A GoFundMe page set up to support her family has raised over $9,000 to help with funeral costs and provide for her husband and son. Police used surveillance footage and phone data to track Dousten, with video evidence showing his truck’s movements after the incident.
Dousten reportedly admitted to a friend that he fired a shot during the road rage dispute, unaware that it hit someone in another vehicle. He also mentioned drinking and playing poker earlier that evening, though it’s unclear if he was impaired at the time. Notably, Dousten was involved in a prior road rage incident on June 9, 2025, where he allegedly assaulted another driver, pointing to a pattern of aggressive behavior. The Glendale Police Department worked swiftly to bring justice to Hermosillo’s family, with spokesperson Brian Hoskins expressing relief at getting the suspect off the streets.
The driver of the other pickup truck involved in the road rage dispute was not charged, as they committed no crime.
