Why did Taylor Swift give her purse to Dolls Star Geraldine Viswanathan?

Why did Taylor Swift give her purse to Dolls Star Geraldine Viswanathan?

It was a simple compliment that sparked an unlikely friendship between two of the most famous women in the world. Actress Geraldine Viswanathan stars in the upcoming film Drive Away Dolls with Margaret Qualley. At Qualley’s wedding to Jack Antonoff, she met pop superstar Taylor Swift. She ended up with a priceless souvenir: Swift’s purse.

Viswanathan shared the hilarious and heartwarming story of how she got Swift’s bag on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday. She explained that she was hanging out with Qualley and Antonoff in the studio, when Swift was about to leave. Antonoff introduced her to Swift, who praised the trailer for Drive Away Dolls.

Viswanathan, who was starstruck and nervous, thanked Swift and then blurted out, “Love your bag!” Swift, who is known for her generosity and kindness, responded by offering her purse to Viswanathan. “She was like, ‘Thanks, do you want it?’ And I was kind of just like, ‘What?’ And then she started taking her stuff out of her bag into her pockets and was like, ‘I got this for free, like, you can take it.’ So, I took her bag!” Viswanathan said, laughing.

Viswanathan showed a photo of her and Swift posing with the purse, which was a black leather clutch with a gold chain. She said she and Swift are now “bonded forever” because of the purse. “I have proof!” she exclaimed.

The purse was not the only thing that made the wedding memorable for Viswanathan. She also got to witness the nuptials of Qualley and Antonoff, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in New Jersey last August. A star-studded guest list attended the wedding. It included Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, and Lana Del Rey. And of course, Swift was there too.

The fashion choices of the event were also noteworthy, especially Swift’s. The singer wore a pale blue Erdem dress that fans felt was reminiscent of her iconic 1989 era. The dress featured a floral print, a high neckline, and a ruffled hem. Swift accessorized with a matching headband, pearl earrings, and a pink mask. The outfit was fitting, considering that Swift released her re-recorded version of 1989 shortly after the wedding.

Viswanathan, who wore a yellow dress with a floral pattern, said she felt like she was in a “dream” at the wedding. She praised Qualley and Antonoff for their love and talent, and said she was honored to be part of their film and their special day. She also thanked Swift for her purse, which she said she will cherish forever.
