Forest Hill, Texas, is reeling from the tragic deaths of local rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter, R’mani Sibley, who were gunned down at a car wash earlier this week. The heartbreaking crime has left a community in mourning, with police now revealing two key suspects in the case.
Authorities have issued capital murder warrants for 24-year-old Adonis Robinson and 21-year-old Jakobie Russell, both from Fort Worth. But as of now, the two remain on the run. Police Chief David Hernandez has called them “cowards” and urged the public to help bring them to justice.
The attack took place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at around 10:40 AM at Slappy’s Car Wash on Forest Hill Drive. Witnesses reported hearing 20 to 30 gunshots as two gunmen approached Lil Ronnie’s car and opened fire.
Despite desperate life-saving efforts, both Ronnie Smith (better known as G$ Lil Ronnie) and his daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. Surveillance footage revealed a horrifying detail: the rapper tried to run for his life, but the attackers didn’t stop until their targets were down.
Most heartbreaking of all—R’mani had just celebrated her fifth birthday the day before. She was still sitting in the car when she was killed. Her mother had dropped her off moments before, never imagining that would be the last time she’d see her child alive.
Police say the attack was not random. It appeared to be a calculated hit. But why? That question haunts Ronnie’s loved ones, and the investigators are determined to find out.
Ronnie Smith wasn’t just another name in the music industry—he was a dedicated father, a passionate artist, and a man working hard to build a future. Performing under the stage name G$ Lil Ronnie, he gained a solid fan base with around 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. His biggest hit, Hoodfame Killuminati, was a collaboration with fellow rapper Go Yayo.
But beyond the music, Ronnie was all about his family. He frequently posted about his daughter, sharing moments of joy and love. Just a few weeks before his death, he attended a Valentine’s Day event at R’mani’s school, not just for her but also for a little girl whose parents couldn’t be there. That was the kind of father he was—always present, always giving.
His aunt, Stella Houston, spoke about his character:
“He wasn’t a troublemaker. He was a family man. He didn’t deserve this, and neither did his baby.”
Now, instead of celebrating his success, his family is planning two funerals.
Forest Hill Police Chief David Hernandez didn’t hold back when announcing the suspects. In a press conference on March 5, he called Robinson and Russell “cowards” who are “scared and hiding.”
He even labeled Robinson as “Public Enemy Number One,” revealing that he is a registered sex offender. Russell, dubbed “Public Enemy Number Two,” is considered extremely dangerous.
Authorities say the two men fled the crime scene in a white four-door Kia, which has since been recovered. However, their current whereabouts remain unknown, and law enforcement warns they are likely armed and dangerous.
In Texas, a capital murder charge carries the most severe penalties, including life in prison or even the death penalty. But first, the police need to catch them.
Tracking down Robinson and Russell has become a top priority for law enforcement. The Texas Rangers, Fort Worth Police Department, and other agencies have joined the search.
Chief Hernandez urged the public to come forward with any information, stating,
“These men are dangerous. We need you to call 911 if you see them. Do not approach—let the police handle it.”
Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
While police continue their hunt, the community is left shaken. The crime marks the fourth and fifth homicides in Forest Hill this year—an alarming statistic for a town that reported zero murders in 2024.
As investigators piece together the events leading to the attack, family, friends, and fans struggle to process the loss. Social media has been flooded with tributes, including one from fellow rapper Go Yayo, who posted a photo of himself with Ronnie, captioning it:
“Life or death 4 u big brudda.”
As the search for the suspects continues, one thing is clear—Forest Hill will not rest until justice is served.
Chief Hernandez reassured the public,
“We will find them. We will hold them accountable. And we will not allow them to think they can get away with this.”
For now, the family of G$ Lil Ronnie and little R’mani Sibley can only wait and hope that those responsible for this heartbreaking tragedy are brought to justice.
Their lives were cut short, but their story will not be forgotten.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Adonis Robinson and Jakobie Russell, please get in touch with the authorities immediately. Your tip could help bring justice for two lives taken too soon.
