Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Life Threatened

Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson was attacked this past weekend, reported JP Finlay for NBC Washington. He was shot during what police reported as an attempted robbery or possible carjacking. The Alabama University product was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Several of the Commander representatives were there at the hospital on Robinson’s behalf to assure his safety, reported The Guardian.

“Commanders rookie RB Brian Robinson has been shot multiple times in robbery attempt, per @nbcwashington. Sources tell me it’s non-life-threatening. Much more to come.”

“The doctors were hopeful, and he had a positive attitude,” Rivera shared. “He’s fortunate and recovering nicely. It’ll take time for his return, but the outlook is optimistic without a set timeline.”

“He’s feeling great and wanted me to thank everyone for their support,” Rivera tweeted. “He wants his teammates to know he values them and sends his love. He’ll be back soon, doing what he does best.”

What Does the Police Report Reveal?

The Washington police reported that Washington Commander RB was in a shooting on the northeast side of the city. However, Sunday evening, while the reports stated they were searching for two possible suspects, ironically, Robinson suffered two gunshot wounds to his lower body area.

Robinson is a third-round draft pick and the Commanders are expecting him to play a major role in the offense. According to sources, he was having an outstanding training camp and performance in preseason games. In fact, he traveled to Baltimore for the Washington Commanders’ final preseason game. Yet, he didn’t suit up which often is a good sign. Players who usually play in the last game are fighting for a roster spot or rotations within the lineup. However, if one doesn’t suit up it means his positional situation is much more secure.

“Brian is doing well,” shared offensive coordinator Scott Turner. “He’s a dedicated and focused individual. Football means a lot to him, and he takes pride in his physical running style.”
