Usher Fell Down & Was Smoove With It

Usher Fell down and was Smoove with it

R&B phenom Usher is one of the most exciting artists to come out of the music industry in the last seven years. His blend of smooth urban sounds – including pop, hip-hop and soul plus Latin and dance – has made him a superstar. He has won two Grammy nominations, three Billboard Music Awards and a Soul Train Award, and has also recently launched a film acting career.

He has been a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers since 2005, but his professional and musical career began in 1992 when he signed to LaFace Records in Atlanta. He became a teen superstar with the single “You Make Me Wanna.”

His follow-up album, My Way (1997), spawned the hits “Nice and Slow” and the chart-topping title track, as well as the top-selling rap/R&B song of all time, “Usher”. It also established him as a major figure in the contemporary R&B scene.

The video is a treat, beginning with a sexy dance sequence and the aforementioned blue lasers. This is followed by a rousing rendition of the aforementioned track, with Lil Jon spraying champagne in front of the camera and Usher dancing the night away in his most flamboyant and flashy outfit ever.

The song is a real show stopper, with a clever use of sonic tricks to highlight its most coveted feature, the chorus. The beats get more pronounced and the bass gets louder and deeper, while Usher smoothly and beautifully flows over the top of them to create a surprisingly edgy yet elegantly executed song that is sure to please the audience.
