Tory Lanez is finally facing trial for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot over two years ago. The rapper shared a confident photo of himself in a grey suit on Instagram, accompanied by an uplifting caption wishing everyone a blessed day.
Dennis Byron confirmed through a tweet on November 29 that jury selection has commenced for the Tory Lanez trial. According to the schedule, jury selection is set to commence on December 5. Following this. The proceedings will continue with opening statements and testimony beginning on December 12.
While it remains unclear whether Lanez is responsible for shooting Megan, the incident has sparked significant public outrage. Some individuals on Twitter have gone to the extreme of comparing Tory to Emmett Till, a young child who was lynched for allegedly whistling at a white woman. Such comparisons are viewed as odd and utterly ridiculous by most rational people.
Moreover, it’s worth noting that many women stand in support of Megan, considering her a symbol of the violence Black women endure regularly. Nevertheless, the outcome of the trial holds significance. As Lanez himself tweeted in October 2020, “the truth will come to light… I have faith in God to show that.”
