Syndee Winters Thrills Audiences with Mashup of “Satisfied” and “Doo Wop (That Thing)”

At a recent 54 Below performance, Broadway sensation Syndee Winters captivated the crowd with a breathtaking fusion of “Satisfied” from Hamilton and Lauryn Hill’s iconic “Doo Wop (That Thing).” The combination first came to her during rehearsals for the show and paid homage to both the brilliant mind of Lauryn Hill and the innovative character of Angelica Schuyler. Winters is known for her roles in various Broadway productions, including Hamilton, Pippin, and Motown the Musical.

Winters has also been making waves as part of the R&B duo Butterfly Black with Grammy Award-winning bassist and producer Ben Williams. Butterfly Black’s music delivers bubbly, boogie-centric, and upscale R&B that bursts with infectious energy, perfect for post-pandemic times. Their latest single, “Lifetime,” is a love anthem for today’s time and follows their debut song, “I Just Want to Love You.”
Syndee Winters’ remarkable abilities serve as an ongoing wellspring of inspiration and empowerment, resonating with both fellow artists and eager audiences. Undaunted by the hurdles posed by the pandemic, Winters took the initiative to establish ROAR School in the midst of the 2020 crisis. This innovative online program caters to artists of color, imparting invaluable skills that enable young talents to navigate diverse performance settings. Winters’ guidance seamlessly blends creativity, discipline, and mindfulness, fostering a holistic approach to the artistic journey.
