Stolen Mercedes Used in Brazen Plantation Home Shooting

Gunfire erupted in a quiet Plantation, Florida, neighborhood when four suspects in a stolen Mercedes-Benz unleashed a barrage of bullets on a home in the middle of the day. The brazen attack, which took place on August 27, 2025, at a rental property on 4891 NW 1st Street, was captured on a Ring doorbell camera, showing the suspects stepping out of a blue-gray Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Coupe and firing at the house before speeding away. No one was injured, but the incident left the community on edge, and police searched for answers. The shooting occurred just after noon in a typically peaceful residential area near Fort Lauderdale.

The suspects, who remain at large, exited the stolen vehicle, fired multiple rounds that left bullet holes in the home’s windows, and then calmly returned to their car to flee. The Mercedes was reported stolen out of Miami Gardens, raising questions about possible connections to the victims, who are also from the same area but have not cooperated with investigators.

Plantation Police believe this attack may be linked to another shooting just 45 minutes later on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County. In that incident, shots were fired from a similar gray Mercedes SUV at a BMW and a Dodge Ram pickup truck near NW 103rd Street. The drivers of the targeted vehicles spoke with Florida Highway Patrol troopers, but no injuries were reported, and the suspects escaped. Authorities suspect the same group may be responsible for both incidents, though a direct connection is still under investigation.

The violence rattles neighbors in Plantation. One resident described hearing rapid “pop, pop, pop” sounds, while another, Richard Reynolds, called the scene “absolutely crazy,” believing the suspects intended to kill.
