Sophie Rain, the Filipino-American OnlyFans star known for building a massive following while maintaining a “virgin” persona, has gone viral with claims that an active NBA player offered her $15 million in exchange for her virginity.
In mid-May, Rain shared a blurred screenshot of a direct message on Instagram in which the unnamed individual allegedly wrote, “If I gave you $15 million would you let me take your vi__ty???” According to Rain, she immediately declined the proposition. “Um, no. I obviously have morals,” she recounted.
In a TMZ interview conducted outside a Beverly Hills club on May 24-25, Rain elaborated on the encounter while confirming key details.
When asked about the identity of the athlete, she responded: “I can’t say… I can say that he is on a basketball team… But you can’t tell us what team? No, I don’t want to, I don’t want to ruin anyone’s career.”
Regarding her response to the offer, Rain stated clearly: “I just said no. Definitely not going to do that.”
She added that the player did not persist after her refusal: “I think I got ghosted after that.”
Addressing widespread online skepticism, including comments using the “cap” emoji suggesting she was lying, Rain pushed back firmly: “This 100% happened. I don’t lie about anything. It’s just crazy… It’s happened before and it’s not shocking at all.”
When asked if such offers from wealthy individuals were unusual for her, she replied: “No, not at all.”
Rain, who is based in Florida, has leveraged her unique branding — provocative yet non-penetrative content that emphasizes her virginity — to achieve significant success on OnlyFans. She has publicly claimed earnings exceeding $100 million on the platform overall.
Online speculation has included unverified guesses at potential NBA names, though no players have been credibly linked or come forward in response.
As with many high-profile claims in the creator economy, the allegations have drawn skepticism. Some commentators and podcasters have suggested the story could be a strategic move to boost visibility and subscriptions, pointing to the heavily redacted screenshot and lack of additional evidence. Rain has not shared further proof beyond her statements.
Rain has not issued additional comments since the TMZ interview, and the NBA has not responded to requests for comment.
