Snyder’s Sequel or Striking Out Solo? Will He Return to Pre-Existing Franchises?

Zack Snyder, a famous director known for Watchmen, 300, and the DC Extended Universe, wants to make a James Bond movie. His idea is to have a young spy who is only 20 years old.

Snyder’s idea is to explore the origins of 007, the iconic British agent portrayed by actors ranging from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig. Snyder wants to show how a young and inexperienced Bond became the suave and sophisticated spy we know and love.

“It’d be cool to see, like, 20-year-old James Bond. The humble roots that he comes from. Whatever trauma of youth that makes you be able to be James Bond. There has to be something there,”

    Snyder said in an interview.

Snyder’s pitch is different from the usual Bond films. These films often have an experienced Bond with gadgets fighting a global threat. Snyder’s vision is more realistic. It focuses on Bond’s thoughts and feelings.

Snyder’s proposal won’t be liked by the Bond franchise producers. They have specific requirements for the next Bond actor. They want actors in their early to mid-30s who can sign a long-term contract. They also wish to be actors with the mental capacity, gravitas, and experience required for the role.

Casting director Debbie McWilliams, who has been involved in the Bond franchise since 1981, said that the idea of a younger Bond was considered and rejected in the past.

“We kind of scrubbed that idea and went back to the drawing board and started again,” McWilliams said, “Finding the right actor for Bond is difficult and careful.”

Many rumors and speculations about who will be the next Bond exist. Daniel Craig’s final movie as Bond is No Time to Die. Fans and media have suggested several names for the role, including Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Regé-Jean Page, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Alexander Dreymon. Snyder’s idea is also in competition with these suggestions.

Snyder’s young Bond is a new and exciting idea. It could reinvent the character and the franchise for a new generation of fans. However, it also risks alienating the loyal and traditional fan base that has followed Bond for over 50 years. Whether Snyder’s idea will ever see the light of day or remain a pipe dream is a question that only time will tell.
