Atlanta rising superstar Slimelife Shawty has been going up the last few years. Gaining the attention of Young Thug, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and more, he is up next to blow on the music scene. The southern rapper returns to the scene with a fire new visual for his “Baby Boy” single.
Slimelife Shawty is honing his skills in expressing his emotions through his music. Demonstrating his talent for creating heartfelt trap songs once more, Slimelife presents “Baby Boy,” his latest music video. With powerful lyrics and genuine emotion in his voice, the Atlanta artist confronts his struggles while acknowledging his remarkable achievements against adversity: “I’m aware I’m in a difficult situation. Despite what others may say, I ventured into uncharted territories.”
With heartfelt lyrics and a melodic flow over an ATL Jacob-produced beat, this young emcee pours his pain into every word. The music video, directed by ShotByWolf, showcases Slimelife counting his wealth and contemplating his life’s challenges in empty parking lots and desolate apartment stairwells. “Baby Boy” follows his previous releases, including the music video for “No Brakes.”
In preparation for his upcoming project Better Livin, Slimelife Shawty has been steadily gaining recognition in the rap game. He has collaborated with artists such as 42 Dugg on the “Clappers” remix and Lil Durk on “Dying 2 Hit Em.” Last year, the Alamo Records artist dropped the full-length project No Slime Left Behind, which included the popular street anthem “All Summer” (2.3M YouTube views).
Slimelife Shawty looks to continue showcasing his ever-melodic flow and unapologetic lyrics. Stay tuned for Better Livin, coming this summer via Alamo Records.
“Slimelife Shawty became a staple of Atlanta’s bubbling underground after appearing on early Lil Keed standouts like ‘Blicky Blicky’ in 2018. Since then, he’s been moving with remarkable consistency, gaining traction with anthemic songs like ‘Don’t Worry.'”
