Shocking Court Filings Reveal Damning Evidence in Akademiks Rape Case: Texts and Scars Exposed

A lawsuit that was filed in New Jersey Superior Court by a former associate alleges that DJ Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, raped Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe. The plaintiff alleges that this event occurred at Akademiks’ home in New Jersey in July 2022. The suit claims Abashe was drugged and raped by two unidentified men at that location and subsequently raped at the same location that night by Akademiks himself.

The lawsuit contains disturbing allegations, including claims that Abashe was assaulted while unconscious or incoherent, resulting in severe physical injuries, such as scrapes and bruises from being dragged across concrete. She also says that Akademiks, the very next morning, showed that surveillance video to Abashe and then later e-mailed a digital copy of the video. According to reports, text messages between Abashe and Akademiks show that he had told her to get tested for sexually transmitted infections after the incident.

Abashe had initially reported the matter to the police but did not press charges at that time. But she found it necessary to sue when Akademiks mentioned the occurrence in a podcast, calling, according to her, for diminished importance to the whole occurrence and amounted to defamatory utterances against her. The lawsuit seeks damages for sexual assault, emotional distress, and defamation.

Akademiks has gone on record to deny the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “shakedown” and saying that law enforcement did not find any criminal wrongdoing. The case has garnered significant attention due to the graphic nature of the claims and the inclusion of screenshots, video footage, and other evidence presented in court filings.
