Sacramento County got hit with some wild chaos on January 22, 2026, right outside a packed gym. It all kicked off with a crazy driver, flipping into a full-blown mess involving fights, a snatched phone, and shots fired that clipped a bystander and even pinged a fire truck. Cops rounded up three guys quick after the dust settled.
This went down around 5:33 p.m. in the Arden-Arcade area, in the parking lot by 24 Hour Fitness at Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way. People saw this stolen car tearing through, spinning donuts, then smashing into other vehicles and rolling over.

The suspects jumped out and noticed folks pulling out their phones to record. They got pissed, went after at least one guy, punching him to the ground and grabbing his phone, according to the sheriff’s report. Things escalated when others tried to step in, turning it into a brawl.
That’s when the 14-year-old in the group snagged a gun from somewhere and started popping off rounds into the crowd. One bullet grazed somebody standing by, nothing life-threatening, and another hit a fire engine from the Sacramento Metro Fire District that had just pulled up. No firefighters were hurt, but they hit the deck fast.
Deputies flooded the scene, yelling stuff like “Get on the ground!” and “Hands up!” They wrestled the suspects down and cuffed them while everything was still frantic, with sirens wailing and people running every which way.
The three arrested: Avieon Spencer, 25; Antwon Pace, 35; and a 14-year-old kid whose name they’re keeping quiet.
Spencer got charged with robbery and resisting arrest. He tried hiding in a nearby neighborhood, but a K-9 dog took him down with a bite. Bail’s at $50,000, and he’s due in court on January 26.
Pace was banged up from the crash and stuck around; they took him to the hospital for serious injuries. Once he’s out, he’ll get booked on some old warrants.
The teen who did the shooting ended up in juvenile hall, facing assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a firefighter with a gun.
