Quavo Denies Domestic Violence Claims
Quavo speaks out about a viral video showing a dispute with ex-girlfriend Saweetie.
Quavo denies any physical abuse towards Saweetie and states that they have moved on and learned from the 2020 incident.
“We went through a tough situation almost a year ago, and we’ve both grown and moved forward,” he told PEOPLE. “I want to make it clear that I never physically abused Saweetie, and I’m grateful for the time we spent together.”
Shocking Footage of Elevator Altercation
A recent TMZ video captured Saweetie and Quavo in a physical altercation inside an elevator at her L.A. apartment last year.
In the video, Saweetie hits Quavo’s face and throws a suitcase out of the elevator. Then, Quavo pulls her into the elevator and falls on top of her.
Furthermore, Saweetie stays on the floor for most of the footage before she picks herself up. Then she limps out of the elevator as Quavo watches on.
“A year ago, we experienced an unfortunate incident. Although we have reconciled and moved past this disagreement, our relationship faced too many challenges, and we have both moved on. Please respect my privacy during this time.” – Saweetie’s statement to PEOPLE.
Saweetie Confirmed The Breakup
Last week, Saweetie confirmed her split with Quavo, citing his infidelity as the reason.
“I’m single. I’ve been hurt and betrayed, and I won’t tolerate false stories that tarnish my character,” Saweetie tweeted. “Gifts don’t heal wounds, and love isn’t genuine when shared with other women.”
Saweetie continued in another tweet:
“I’ve emotionally moved on and feel at peace. Excited for this new chapter 🙏🏽.”
The saga of how the relationship unraveled seemingly continues.
