Police Search Henderson home in Tupac Shakur murder investigation! Almost three decades after Tupac’s murder down in Las Vegas, the murder case has received a new jolt. A house in Henderson, Nevada, underwent a police search this week.
A police spokesperson confirmed the warrant was served on July 17 but would not provide further details. The slaying of the hip-hop legend went unsolved for decades. In 2019, retired LAPD Detective Greg Kading claimed that powerful East Coast rap moguls were behind the killing.
Tupac Amaru Shakur, died via gunfire in 1996 and died six days later at age 25. The music pulsed with urgent political messages and tragic scenes of life in low-income Black and brown neighborhoods. Shakur quickly became a star, and his brief yet dominant career anchored him as a key figure in hip-hop’s story. He sold over 75 million albums. Pac remains immortal in a host of posthumous music releases, movies, documentaries, and even a hologram at Coachella.
After leaving a boxing match with Suge Knight, Shakur got into a fight with Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson, a member of the Southside Crips gang. During a fight that ensued outside the MGM Grand hotel, an unknown assailant shot the two men.
During his final hours, Shakur told those by his bedside that he knew who was responsible for the killing. The next day, he died at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
The police search in Henderson is arguably the biggest development in the murder case in years. Despite many investigations and conspiracy theories, the LVMPD has made little public headway on the case in recent years.
It’s unclear why the police have chosen to focus their efforts on a Henderson property. Several Metro police vehicles were present on Monday. One neighbor told the news outlet that about a dozen officers were on the scene at the time. The news station also reported that the home belongs to a 60-year-old man.
