On January 5, 2026, social media blew up when X user @libsoftiktok posted videos from a TikTok account called @borderlinebimbo_, stirring up the old debate about gym rules and women’s safety all over again. The original clips date back to May 2025 and describe a supposed run-in in a Planet Fitness women’s bathroom with someone who looked masculine. The post, ID 2008060989414203890, racked up tons of views fast, leading to boycott calls, though a lot of the details are still just one person’s word.
A tweet from X.
The woman in the videos describes seeing what she believed was a man masturbating in a stall. She reported it to staff but claims they did nothing about it. Critics- @libsoftiktok among them-derided Planet Fitness’ gender policy as one that puts men into women’s spaces and thus endangers them, with the account flat-out declaring,
“Planet Fitness’ policies allow men to invade the women’s locker rooms. Planet Fitness isn’t safe for women.”
The first video runs about four to five minutes and shows a heated confrontation right there in what looks like the Planet Fitness women’s restroom. The TikToker films toward a stall, accusing the person inside of masturbating while others maybe even young girls were around. The person shoots back,
“I’m allowed to be in here… I’m a transgender,”
leaning on the gym’s rules to justify being there.
In the follow-up video, about 5:30 in length, the woman speaks directly to the camera. She says this all went down in May of 2025 and that after she called it in,
“the staff-including managers-did absolutely nothing about the man who was allegedly masturbating they refused to intervene, remove him, or take any action.”
She sounds really rattled and blames Planet Fitness’s stated policy of letting people use facilities based on their self-identified gender as placing that above women’s safety and privacy. She calls for people to cancel their memberships, saying the place is not safe for women.
The videos certainly seem authentic, as though they were filmed by the same woman in a straightforward, unedited style. Other than her testimony, however, there is no independent evidence to support this claim, such as police reports or witness statements. Scouring for reports of similar incidents in 2025 found examples of arrests for bathroom filming, but nothing related to trans individuals or masturbation. Planet Fitness has remained mum on this claim publicly.
A documented case for comparison, out of Fairbanks in 2024, was that of a woman who got her membership yanked after having filmed and griped about a trans person shaving in the locker room, breaking the no-filming rule. That sparked boycotts and a stock tumble, but no lewd behavior involved in that case.
Planet Fitness maintains its policy of allowing members to utilize bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their “sincere self-reported gender identity,” an extension of their “Judgment Free Zone” ethos. They ban filming in those areas to keep privacy intact. Reps have made it clear the rules don’t cover criminal or creepy acts those break gym guidelines and laws no matter who you are.
In that 2024 Alaska mess, the gym backed revoking the complainer’s access, not the trans member’s. Detractors say enforcement’s spotty, which could leave women exposed.
This whole thing feeds into America’s ongoing culture clashes, pitting trans rights against worries over women’s privacy. Social media amps up voices like @libsoftiktok on the conservative side, spreading fury quick amid all the political heat. Folks backing inclusive policies argue they protect trans people from discrimination, while opponents worry about creeps abusing self-ID.
Planet Fitness has taken hits before 2024 boycotts meant lost members and threats, but they’ve held the line on inclusivity. Social media turns these personal tales into nationwide arguments in a flash, often skipping the fact-checking. The @libsoftiktok post fuels the fire, but without solid confirmation, it could just be fanning unproven flames.
