Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Hurts Annihilates New Orleans Saints

Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles has had an exceptional performance on the field against the New Orleans Saints. Effectively showcasing his skills and abilities. Throughout the game, it was clear the Eagles decided to stick to their run game and dominate one of the NFL’s top-ranked rushing defenses. Jalen Hurts exhibited his extraordinary skills by scoring three touchdowns through his impressive runs. While Eagles cornerback Darius Slay contributed to the teams’ advantage by intercepting a pass and returning it for a crucial touchdown.

“Jalen is a unique player who changes the way defenses approach the game,” commented Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. “You consider their statistics, but you also focus on playing to your strengths.”

Eagles running back Miles Sanders rushed for 94 yards, while Hurts chipped in with 69 yards and Jordan Howard rushed for 63 yards. The Eagles amassed 242 rushing yards against a team that typically allows only 72.9 rushing yards per game, as reported by ESPN.

The Eagles have gained over 175 rushing yards in four consecutive games, including three wins where they exceeded 200 rushing yards.

“It makes a huge difference,” Sanders said about having a quarterback like Hurts who can both pass and run. “It creates large running lanes for all of us. Having Jalen makes things much easier, but we also need to acknowledge the offensive line’s contributions.”

Philadelphia Eagles Begin to Go on a Roll

The Eagles have won two in a row for the first time this season. They have handed the New Orleans Saints their third straight loss since losing their starting quarterback Jameis Winston to a season-ending ACL injury.

“We didn’t do what was needed to win in every aspect,” stated Saints coach Sean Payton. “Turnovers were a problem. We had difficulties defending their running game. Our return game was only average. We all need to improve.”

Later, Hurts connects with tight end Dallas Goedert on a big third down, which ultimately led to quarterback sneak on the one yard line. Hurts ran from the three yard line the following possession, reaching the ball over the pylon. On the year, Hurts has seven rushing touchdowns, not to mention, Hurts completed 13 of 24 for 147 yards and no turnovers.

“I just made a play,” Hurts said. “I’m frustrated from the drives we didn’t score.”
