Tragedy struck on Peewee Longway’s 41st birthday when his brother was reportedly shot and killed in Clayton County, Georgia, casting a dark shadow over the rapper’s milestone. The shooting happened on Sunday, August 17, 2025, around 4 PM at an intersection in Clayton County, though exact details about the location remain undisclosed. Authorities responded quickly, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not officially confirmed the identity of Peewee Longway’s brother, and conflicting reports on social media have raised questions about the victim’s status, with some uncertainty about whether he is deceased.
Peewee Longway, whose real name is Quincy Lamont Williams, was likely in custody at the time of the incident, following his arrest in September 2024 as part of a major drug trafficking bust in Columbus, Georgia. This operation, known as “Operation Sweet Silence,” targeted a $200–$280 million drug network and led to over 100 arrests, including the Atlanta-based rapper. While Longway’s legal troubles have kept him behind bars, the loss of his brother adds a personal tragedy to his ongoing challenges.
Details about the shooter and the motive remain unclear, as Clayton County Police have not released information about suspects or the circumstances leading to the shooting. Speculation on social media points to possible connections with street violence or rivalries within Atlanta’s hip-hop scene, but no evidence confirms these claims. The timing of the incident on Longway’s birthday has fueled discussions about whether the shooting was a targeted act, though authorities have not commented on this theory.
Peewee Longway, a key figure in Atlanta’s rap scene, is known for his work with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records and his mixtape The Blue M&M. His affiliations with groups like the Felix Brothers and MPA BandCamp place him in a network where rivalries are not uncommon, but no specific conflict has been linked to this shooting.
The hip-hop community has rallied around Longway, with fans and peers expressing condolences online and calling for prayers for his family.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and police have not shared additional details about witnesses or leads.
