Spice Fears “Black Hypocrisy” in Jamaica

72

Spice claims Black business isn’t successful and the Chinese are THRIVING…

In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, self-proclaimed Queen of Dancehall and Love and Hip Hop cast member, Spice, shared her thoughts on the lack of identity preservation in Jamaica. The morning hosts began the conversation by addressing Spice’s fairly recent skin-lightening debacle (which wasn’t real) which was to promote her single titled “Black Hypocrisy“. Later the discussion circled back when asked how she felt about the “Chinese buying up everything in Jamaica” and her response:

“I don’t like it,” said Spice. “But again that’s another black hypocrisy…if you’re black and you have businesses, they don’t support you, but the Chinese, they buy, they support…”

According to CThaGod and Spice, the Chinese have invested $100 million in a highway (fact check, it was $600M) and communities consisting of Asian workers, developers and more began sprouting frequently.

This speaks to a bigger issue– self-preservation or rather the preservation of one’s culture. It gets a little murky considering the social climate today when advocating one’s own without being non-inclusive or extremely exclusive.

Aldyr Schlee, Famous Yellow Jersey Designer, Dies

Aldyr Schlee has died at the age of 83 years old. Schlee was the designer responsible for the famous yellow jersey, worn by the National Football Team of Brazil.

Upon hearing about a national competition in search of the team’s new uniform, he was working as an illustrator for a newspaper in Rio Grande do Sul. Schlee won the contest with his design in 1953. The contest was a result of Brazil’s football team losing it’s match in 1950, against Uruguay. The defeat ignited Brazil to search for a way to instill pride back into their country. Schlee designed several other jerseys before making his final decision.

“In the end I realised the shirt just had to be yellow,” he said. “That went nicely with the blue and the socks could be white, with the green around the collar.”

Schlee was battling skin cancer. The team paid tribute to him during their match against Uruguay. Both teams sat in a moment of silence. Brazil won 1-0.

On an inspiring roll in the wake of three consecutive Top 15 Billboard Hot Gospel Songs. The Akron, OH based R&B/Hip Hop Quartet Half Mile Home blends funk, soul and “woke ness” on their dynamic upcoming single “I Won’t Judge” – a portion of whose proceeds will be dedicated to the Boiling Point Foundation. This is a nonprofit organization helping many people deal with mental health issues as well as the loss of a loved one.

The success of Half Mile Home’s most recent single “This Far” sparked the formation of the group’s anti-violence non-profit The Boiling Point, which is designed to provide resources to help young people channel their anger and negative energy into positive outlets before they turn to destructive activities that sometimes have deadly consequences.

Half Mile Home formed in 2004, the group’s previous radio single “Thinking of Me,” which reached the Top 15 of Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, was ranked #39 on the publication’s 2017 Year-End Top 50 Gospel chart. City of Houston Names “Astroworld Day” an Official Calendar Event

0

The Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, has officially named Nov. 18 as “Astroworld Day.”

The official proclamation comes after Travis Scott’s highly praised album, Astroworld, and festival.

The city of Houston uploaded a video on their personal Twitter account.

On Sunday night, Scott stood at the podium, thanking his hometown for the love and support. “I grew up here my whole life. I was inspired by Astroworld. In ‘05 when they took it away, it kind of like took a big piece of my heart away,” he said. “I just wanted to kind of bring back that feeling and give this city something [so] they can always have something fun to do.”

Houston, TX is Scott’s hometown, and he cherishes it’s role in his upbringing. The rapper was also named as an ambassador for the arts, education and youth initiatives. Standing in the crowd were school students and members of different organizations.

Kylie Jenner, and his daughter, Stormi Webster, were also in attendance. Before the ceremony at City Hall was over, he acknowledged his family, and referred to Jenner as “his wife.”

Earlier this year, Scott announced that he’d be bringing an event to his city on November. Astroworld Festival is a one day festival that will happen once a year. The festival kicked off it’s first official day on Nov. 17.

The official lineup included Post malone, Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Rae Sremmurd, Gunna, Houston All Stars, Sheck Wes, Metro Boomin, Trippie Redd, Virgil Abloh, Smoke Purpp, and Tommy Genesis.

6ix9ine Finds Himself In Deep Crap After Arrest For Racketeering

It looks like 6ix9ine is in some serious trouble…again.

The rapper, his former manager, and two other people were picked up by ATF agents in New York City Sunday night. Sources say the four are looking at racketeering and firearms charges. The investigation was brought on by the ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security.

Recently, 6ix9ine has found himself at the center of controversy. His video set, which was supposed to include Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, was shot at, causing the production to be shut down.

If found guilty, he could be facing some serious years in prison. He and the three other individuals are set to appear in arraignment later today in Manhattan.

Former manager, Shottie, Faheem Walter, and Jensel Butler are the other three in custody with 6ix9ine, whose real name is Danial Hernandez.

The story is still developing.

Adi Shankar to produce a Superman vs Ku Klux Klan movie

0

Adi Shankar, cult favorite producer of Netflix’s Castlevania and YouTube Power Ranger short film, has joined with PaperChase Films to produce a Superman vs KKK movie.

Shankar had this to say about this new partnership: “Superheroes operate outside the scope of law and offer us hope that someone will rise up and protect us when government and other institutions cannot or will not. This story shows the power of the superhero mythology and it’s tangible impact on the physical world.”

Marc Rosen, a collaborator on the project, said this: “Adi Shankar has long been inspired to fight for just causes; he has successfully taken on the status quo and broken barriers long seen as insurmountable. This story highlights the power of the people against the alarming resurgence of some the darkest chapters of our country’s past. It is as historical as it is timely, as the nation is once again facing challenges to the principles of truth, justice and ‘The American Way.”

Superman vs Ku Klux Klan will be based on a non fiction book by Rick Bowers. The movie will follow Stetson Kennedy, a young writer and activist who went undercover in the KKK to expose their secrets. He would end up teaming up with the Superman themed radio show, The Adventures of Superman, in a 16 part series starring the last son of krypton which disclosed the practices of the Klan.

There is no news yet on casting or release date for this movie.

Death Tolls Spike in California Wildfires

The wildfires in Northern California have been the most catastrophic in the state’s history. Reports show that the remains of at least 77 people have been found. While the number of bodies continue to rise, the number of missing people has started to drop. At first, there were more than 1,200 people unaccounted for. The number now rests at 993.

Officials say the fire is now 65% contained. And with the possibility of rain this week, it may help contain the fire even more. There have been more than 247,000 acres destroyed across California, forcing entire neighborhoods to flee to safety.

More than 272, 000 have had to leave behind their homes.

Justine Skye claims that ‘Mo Mamba’ rapper Sheck Wes is responsible for abusing her…

As DV Awareness month comes to an end.. the issue doesn’t just disappear. Recently I’ve had one of the scariest/heart breaking experiences in my life and it’s still hard for me to talk about. I felt stupid, angry, depressed.. blamed myself. Trying to figure out how someone who claimed they loved me so much could find such evil within themselves to hurt me mentally and physically. Learned a lot about the people I chose to call my “friends”.. and about myself. I was one of those people who would be like “No man would ever put their hands on me! .. blah blah blah..” We all think we know what we’d do until it’s happening to you. Now, I’m not looking for sympathy and never thought this would be part of the story I’d be telling of my self.. unfortunately it is, but I won’t let it be what defines me. I had to find the strength within myself and I’m hoping that through this video I can motivate whoever else is going through this or worse, to do the same. You are strong, you are loved and you deserve so much better 💜 | Video link in bio

Shania Twain Peed on Herself… And Nobody Even Knew It!

0

Shania Twain let nature take the wheel live on stage when she had to go… And nobody even knew it! But how you ask? Let’s dive deeper into this magic trick of sorts.

The event happened during on-air game called “That Does Impress Me Much”  which happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I was very clever in this moment,” she told Cohen. “I stood up from my chair to get up and sing. I peed myself.”

How Shania Twain covered it up on live television you ask? She spilled a glass of water on purpose in the same area that she wetted up. Clever moves, clever moves.

“I was wearing a skirt, thank goodness,” Twain, 53, said “I stood up, it all came out, I was dry.” What a late night performance, huh?
