Miami rising Money Rod has quickly rose to prominence with breakout hits “Saucey On Me” and “Better Part.” Today, he lives up to his name with the release of the new money-motived single “Money.” Sampling 1974 The O’Jay’s classic, “For The Love of the Money,” Rod delivers a braggadocious flow about getting to the bag and what he is about to bring to the game.
“‘Money’ is the perfect introduction of me to the world,” Money Rod says in a press release. “I’ve been called a money winner since I was a youngin’ so it’s only right that my first record be called Money.”
The new song plays into Money Rod’s forthcoming project, properly titled, Money Power Respect. The album is his formal introduction to a mainstream audience following his rising popularity. “These are the three things [Money, Power, and Respect] that everyone from my background strives for.”
