Louisiana rapper FG Famous was booked into the Washington Parish Jail on the night of November 2, just hours after his release from federal prison, according to public jail records. The 28-year-old, whose real name is Mark Amos IV, had completed most of a 60-month sentence for a federal firearms offense connected to drug trafficking.
Amos walked free earlier that day after serving time on a 2022 case in which he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. On July 7 of that year, Bogalusa police attempted to stop him in a Chevrolet Corvette. He fled through residential streets at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before abandoning the vehicle and hiding under a porch. Officers recovered roughly 522 grams of marijuana and two handguns, one of them stolen. He was sentenced in August 2024 and received credit for time already served.
Jail records show Amos was booked at 11:41 p.m. the same night by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office on multiple counts of racketeering under Louisiana Revised Statute 15:1353. The listing describes him as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 140 pounds. Reports on social media indicated the charges were bondable. He remains presumed innocent of the pending state charges.
The racketeering indictment dates to February 6, 2024, when a Washington Parish grand jury charged Amos and 15 other people with participating in an alleged enterprise that operated from 2017 through late 2023. Prosecutors described a firearms and narcotics distribution network active in Washington and St. Tammany Parishes. The indictment alleged conduct that included drug trafficking, illegal gun possession and trafficking, money laundering, obstruction of justice, and acts of violence including murder and attempted murder. Amos was named under both his legal name and his stage name. Because he was already in federal custody when the state indictment was returned, the charges remained pending until his release.
Amos built his career in the Bogalusa rap scene alongside the late JayDaYoungan, with whom he grew up and frequently collaborated. Their joint tracks include “Me & My Brudda” and “DREADLOCKS.” After JayDaYoungan was killed in a shooting on a porch in Bogalusa on July 27, 2022, Amos released the tribute “In Da Name of 23.” Federal filings from the earlier gun case described the two as associates in a local group authorities referred to as the 23 Gang. Videos of Amos leaving federal custody circulated widely on November 2 before accounts such as Daily Loud and My Mixtapez reported the subsequent booking.
The federal firearms case and the state racketeering matter are separate proceedings. The gun charge stemmed from the 2022 traffic stop. The broader racketeering allegations cover a multi-year period that ended in 2023. As of early November 2026, no major public statements from prosecutors or Amos’s representatives had appeared in initial coverage of the booking. Washington Parish records listed the entry as updated on November 3.
