The legendary line-up of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker released two new tracks. These tracks spearhead their new upcoming album, One More Time. Both tracks are titled, appropriately enough, “One More Time” and “More Than You Know.”
Blink-182 New Songs 2023
The band revisits their signature pop-punk roots with a little more energy than usual. They burst on to the scene in the late ’90s with their catchy hooks and high-energy live shows. Blink gained colossal mainstream success with the release of 1999’s Enema of the State.
Their loyal fan base built off their appearances with NOFX and Pennywise on the Warped Tour. Their hilariously tongue-in-cheek music videos garnered much buzz as well. They went on to release six more albums, a career-spanning box set, a live LP, and countless merch items.
The new track features a video directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada. In it, the trio performs while clips from their old music videos play behind them. It also includes a montage of photos representing different stages in their career.
“One More Time” is a catchy, up-tempo pop-punk song with a strong dose of ’90s nostalgia. Its lyrics address how it sometimes takes a major disaster to bring friends together. Like Travis’ 2008 plane crash or Mark’s cancer diagnosis in 2021.
“More Than You Know,” on the other hand, is a slower and more acoustic ballad. It addresses the fact that even though the band’s chemistry was always there, it took some time for the band to recognize it. It’s a genuinely heartfelt and honest song with no inappropriate jokes in sight.
The new songs will appear on the upcoming album, due October 20th. They recorded this project during the band’s recent reunion tour. It will feature all of the original members except drummer Scott Raynor, who died in 2013, RIP.
