Liquid Death and Bark Reportedly Releasing a Human-Sized Coffin for Pet Owners

Dog owners who already share the couch, the bed, and half their dinner now have a chance to take that bond one step further literally into the afterlife. BARK, the company behind BarkBox, and Liquid Death, the canned-water brand famous for its heavy-metal attitude, are dropping “The Most Forever Home,” a full-sized human coffin that also works as an oversized dog bed.

Only three units exist. Each costs $1. They go on sale today, September 25, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET exclusively on BARK’s website. Expect them to vanish in seconds.

The concept is pure Liquid Death energy mixed with BARK’s deep understanding of pet parents. Liquid Death built its name on dark humor and outrageous stunts think casket coolers and Bluetooth urns. BARK specializes in toys, treats, and gear that celebrate the messy, loyal reality of living with dogs. Their September collaboration already delivered death-themed products like the Ram Chop squeaky toy (a heavy-metal twist on the classic Lamb Chop), Dogtor Death Can, Marcus the Carcass, Dead Head Burrow Toy, and the Sleep When You’re Fed coffin-shaped dog bed. “The Most Forever Home” is the extreme limited-edition finale.

Before any final use, the coffin functions as a shared nap space. Owners can curl up with their dog inside the padded interior. BARK is also including a free “Final Wishes” document. It lets people write down preferences for side-by-side burial, cuddling together inside the coffin, or cremation as a pair.

Dave Stangle, BARK’s VP of Brand, put it simply to Parade:

“Dog parents already share their bed, their couch and in my case usually half my dinner with dogs, so why not share forever? Liquid Death gets that kind of dedication, and The Most Forever Home was the natural next step in our collaboration. It can be good for napping side by side for an afternoon, or eternity. If dog parents want to make it official, well, where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Having purchased the coffin doesn’t necessarily mean the cemetery or crematorium will let you bury or cremate your two companions together. Different states, local laws and specific rules apply to that. Quite often there are limitations on whole body burial of pets with humans, which applies only to ashes.

A $1 cost and only three items per purchase make the strategy clear. Rarity, combined with the use of macabre humor, guarantees immediate virality. Both brands specialize in creating campaigns that are simply too strange to be left ignored, and this campaign is a perfect example of the way the American pet-culture can be targeted.

So, this item really exists, is extremely limited and created to provoke discussion. Whether or not it will be used as a final resting place for a pet is a completely different story. However, for now it is the best possible conversation starter for people who see their dogs as their family.
