Lil Yachty & James Blake Team Up for “Bad Cameo” Album

Rapper Lil Yachty and producer James Blake have announced a collaborative album titled “Bad Cameo”. This unlikely duo shared a video teaser on Instagram. It reveals their creative chemistry and the unconventional nature of their project. The album is set to drop soon.

Lil Yachty is known for his versatility and experimentation. He has released a psych rock album, “Lil Boat 3.5”. He also has collaborated with artists from various genres, such as Faye Webster, Drake, and DaBaby. However, his partnership with James Blake is perhaps his most unexpected and intriguing move yet.

James Blake is an acclaimed producer and singer, who has worked with some of the biggest names in hip hop, such as Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Travis Scott. He is also a solo artist, who has released four studio albums, including the Grammy-winning “Assume Form”.

The two artists met in March last year, when Blake posted a photo of him and Yachty in the studio. They later debuted a track they made together at a CMYK event last summer, sparking curiosity and excitement among their fans.

In the Instagram video, Yachty says: “This project is so left for both of us. I don’t think people know that we know each other exist.” He also jokes that Blake “hasn’t many followers” but has “worked with a quite substantial amount of hip hop artists.” He adds that the album will be “soon”, without giving a specific date.

Blake also expresses his enthusiasm for the project, saying: “It’s been a pleasure working with Yachty. He’s got a lot of talent and a lot of ideas. I think people are going to be surprised by what we’ve done.”

The album title, “Bad Cameo”, is a reference to Yachty’s cameo appearance in the 2019 movie “How High 2”, which was widely panned by critics and fans. Yachty seems to embrace the negative feedback, and uses it as a source of inspiration for his music.

Yachty has also been seen with other U.K. electronic artists, such as Overmono and Fred Again…, at an event in New York last week. This suggests that he is exploring new sounds and collaborations within the music industry, and that “Bad Cameo” might be just the tip of the iceberg.

Bad Cameo” is one of the most anticipated albums of the year, as it promises to deliver a unique and fresh blend of rap and electronic music. Lil Yachty and James Blake fans are eagerly awaiting the album release, crossing their fingers it lives up to the hype.
