Our favorite, long lost loner stoner is at wits end with Kanye West. Kid Cudi, the neutral Aquarius is making it plain and simple, he does not want to ever work with Kanye West again. This is unfortunate, as we all have nostalgia when it was all good between the artists. “Make No Mistakes”, Ye’s soulful symphony on the album Ye features Cudi along on other dope tracks like “Christian Dior Denim Flow”, and “Erase me”. The multi-triple GRAMMY winner seems to be burning bridges with other rappers like Big Sean. The MBDTFJ genius gladly announced on Drink Champs that he’s burying Big Sean saying he was the worst decision ever. Whereas Kanye resigned his mentorship with Big Sean, the Detroit rapper still claims to love Yeezy.
Cudi Cuts Kanye
According to American Songwriter, Cudi says he refuses to ever work with Kanye again. In a recent Twitter post from the “Pursuit of Happiness” artst slams Ye: “He’s not my friend.” This may not be so much of a shock to fans as Ye crosses his list of “opps” out.
However, the question is, is this a good move for Cudi? As we all know, Kid Cudi can crawl in his shell like a Cancer. But having an ego-confident brainiac as your mentor, coming out of that shell is safe. Kanye is that kind of person, when he’s with you, he’s with you, he’s a light when he’s feeling well.
According to KIISFM, Ye is in hot water with Cudi for stringing him through his beef with Pete Davidson a few months ago. With Kid Cudi being an advocate for mental health awareness, it seems as if he’s protecting his by exiting the Ye drama. We are sure that Cudi will be just fine on his own, although he likes to take his gift from us from time to time. We are hopeful that the friendship will resume at some point; however, it won’t be anytime soon.
The new collaboration with Kanye on Pusha T’s album, It’s Almost Dry features Cudi on the same track, but Kid took to Twitter to plead his case. Check out the receipts:
Hey! I wanted to share some news with you all. You may have heard about the song I collaborated on with Pusha. Just to clarify, I worked on this song about a year ago when I had a good relationship with Kanye. However, things have changed, and I am no longer on good terms with him. He’s not my friend anymore. I only gave permission for Pusha to use the song because he’s my guy. This will be the last song where you’ll hear me with Kanye. – Scott
