Kendrick is Back
Kendrick Lamar, in a stealth KDOT fashion, has crept his way back on Billboard Hot 100 Top 20. It is clear that he moves in silence, but never fails to produce greatness. In fact, the “Family Ties” collaboration with Baby Keem has put up eye-widening numbers. As a result of its nearly two week success, the single racked up 14 million YouTube views in addition to 22 million Spotify streams.
.@babykeem & @kendricklamar‘s “Family Ties” debuts at No. 18 on this week’s #Hot100.
It earns Baby Keem his first top 40 hit, and Lamar his highest-charting song since 2018.

Top 5, Top 5?
Kendrick calls out Kanye in his verse, addressing who he presumes to be on his list of top rappers.
“Don’t you address me unless it’s with four letters/I thought you’d known better/I been duckin’ the pandemic, I been—, social gimmicks/I been duckin’ the overnight activists.”
Fans were taken aback by his August announcement. No one knows what’s next for Kendrick, but he had a lot to say regarding the matter.
“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts,” he said in a statement. “I enjoy writing, listening, and collecting old Beach cruisers. The peaceful morning rides bring me solace. I often go without a phone for months. Love, loss, and grief have disrupted my comfort, but I find solace in the divine through my music and family. As the world changes around me, I reflect on what truly matters. I wonder where my words will resonate next.”
The rapper from Compton further expressed,
“As I work on my final album with TDE, I feel grateful to have been a part of such a significant cultural legacy over the past 17 years. The struggles, the triumphs, and above all, the sense of brotherhood. May the Most High continue to inspire Top Dawg as a platform for honest creators. As I follow my life’s path, I find fulfillment in reaching my goals and embracing the mysteries ahead. I appreciate your support and prayers. We will reunite in due time.
Last TDE Album
Most recently, KDOT registered more than two dozen songs with ASCAP, letting fans know he’s working. His final TDE album is surely on the way. In the meantime, stream Baby Keem’s The Melodic Blue, which drops tomorrow, September 10.
