With 75,000 equivalent album units in its second week, “Vultures 1” stands tall at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This feat marks Ye’s first album to spend multiple weeks at the top since the iconic “Watch the Throne” collaboration with Jay-Z back in 2011.
“Vultures 1” is an independent album by Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign, released in February 2024. The album is a collaboration between the two artists, collectively known as ¥$. It features guest vocals from West’s daughter North, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Bump J, Lil Durk, Rich the Kid, and Chris Brown.
“Vultures 1” is West’s third collaboration with Dolla Sign and follows their 2021 albums Dond and Cheers to the Best Memories.In its first week, “Vultures 1” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and earned over $1 million, mostly from streaming.
The album was conceived in June 2023 during a hiatus from social media, as Ye and Ty were spotted together in Japan recording music. The album was first teased throughout late 2023 under the placeholder title ¥$2. After several delays and changes to its tracklist, it was finally released on February 10, 2024. The album features uncredited guest vocals from various artists, adding to the intrigue and anticipation.
“Vultures 1” is the first installment of a three-volume series, with “Vultures 2” and “Vultures 3” slated for release on March 8 and April 5, respectively.
