Music and fashion mogul Kanye West found himself under investigation for battery after he was caught on video grabbing and tossing a woman’s phone. The rapper allegedly argued with the woman while she was filming him as he left his daughter North West’s basketball game.
In the clip, the rapper can be seen approaching the woman and demanding she stop filming him. She argues she was just following him, but Ye cut her off by reaching into her car and grabbing her phone before tossing it into the street.
TMZ reports that the woman declined to press charges against Kanye after she filed a complaint with law enforcement. As a result, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office is saying that West won’t face any charges in connection with the incident.
The incident occurred on January 31 and took place near a basketball facility where Ye’s daughter was playing. It was also filmed by his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, who sat a short distance away from the incident while she accompanied her sister Khloe’s ex-fiance Tristan Thompson to the event.
The video went viral after it was shared on social media and prompted an official investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. The video shows Ye grabbing the woman’s phone, tossing it into the street, and then confronting another photographer. In the end, he stormed back to his car where his alleged new bride Bianca Censori was waiting for him.
