Originally dropped as a single in 2022 and subsequently featured on the second installment of his 828 EP series, Kamos unveils the official visual for “Free Speech.”
Directed by MUNDO, this on-screen interpretation of the RE:VCT-produced track marks the debut promotional video from the Bronx-born wordsmith’s upcoming full-length project, “828.” The high-definition clip addresses the potential pitfalls of politically charged conversations, shedding light on how easily they can be misconstrued, leading to harsh judgments or societal cancelation. Kamos’s bars reflect his contemplation: “Is my speech genuinely free? I’m filled with queries to express, yet somewhat apprehensive. I don’t want to be ostracized by a culture for a tweet. Should I shoulder the blame, or is it misplaced?”
In a formal statement to the press, the East Coast emcee discloses:

“The idea for ‘Free Speech’ was born when I received a warning that another song I had planned for release could potentially be too intense or triggering for audiences to process. This led me to struggle with writer’s block the entire day, as what’s there to write when your thoughts are under scrutiny? This track emerged as my attempt to reconcile that internal creative dilemma.”
Hailing from The Bronx, New York City, rapper and producer C.K Reid, known as Kamos, is a self-taught musician who embarked on his artistic journey at the tender age of three. Captivated by the soulful melodies of music, Kamos’s passion for Hip-Hop was recognized by his father, who equipped their family computer with FL Studio when Kamos was only nine. After acquainting himself with the production software, Kamos’s father transformed his bedroom into a home studio.
In 2014, Kamos gained online attention with his nostalgic track “MYFB.” This was soon followed by “Own Supply,” a unique spin on Notorious B.I.G.’s “Ten Crack Commandments,” and later “Better Doe.” Kamos continued honing his sound, collaborating with local talents as a producer for their projects. Now dedicated solely to his career as a recording artist, he released the first volume of his 828 EP series in 2022. Volume 2 dropped earlier this year in January, while Volume 3 hit the scene in late February.
