Kai Cenat’s attorneys have sent a formal cease-and-desist letter to former friend and streaming collaborator Reggie Travers, demanding the removal of videos containing allegations that Cenat groomed 17-year-old creator QuVonn “Rakai” Linder. The letter, dated Oct. 2 and obtained by TMZ, states that the claims are “categorically false” and asserts that Travers has offered no supporting evidence.
The dispute stems from a public falling-out within the Clover Boys circle, a group of creators long associated with Cenat. In late September, Travers, who streams as Lil Rodney Son, began posting videos after leaving the group. In a Sept. 27 YouTube video titled “THE TRUTH ABOUT ME AND EVERYTHING PART 1,” he described alleged childhood sexual abuse by his brother. In the same video, he addressed Cenat directly, saying, “Kai, you wrong as hell, ’cause you know somebody took advantage of RaKai,” and encouraged those around Linder to urge him to speak publicly.
Linder responded two days later on X, writing, “I never got touched in any way growing up and not by my family or my friends. I already get enough hate and controversy as it is to now have this on my back. Please don’t believe everything you read on the internet.”
On Sept. 30, Travers escalated the claims during an Instagram Live. He described Cenat as a pedophile, alleged that Cenat had been grooming Linder, and claimed Cenat encouraged the younger creator to engage in sexual acts “for clout.” That same day, Cenat addressed the accusations on a Twitch stream. He denied the allegations, challenged Travers to present any evidence to law enforcement, and stated that he would contact police himself. “I’m suing you, brother,” Cenat said on the stream. “You’re playing with my name. You’re playing with my family’s food. You’re playing with my future kids’ food.” He also referenced prior financial support for the Clover Boys setup and claimed to have invested millions into the group.
According to the Oct. 2 letter obtained by TMZ, Cenat’s legal team accused Travers of disseminating false and misleading statements. The letter states: “We want to be unequivocal: the suggestion that Mr. Cenat has ever engaged in any form of pedophilia, or exchanged sex for platforming any person, is categorically false.” It further claims the statements have damaged Cenat’s reputation and that Travers’ conduct included threats that caused employees to fear for their safety and disrupted business operations. The letter demands that the videos be removed.
Around Oct. 23, Travers displayed documents on camera that he said were a temporary restraining order petition filed by Cenat. He indicated he intended to contest the matter in court. Reports described the papers as appearing to be a TRO petition; it has not been independently confirmed that any order was issued.
Cenat, one of Twitch’s most-followed streamers, has built a large audience through marathon streams, celebrity guests, and events such as Streamer University. Travers and Linder were both part of the Clover Boys circle and frequently appeared alongside him. The broader dispute has also involved claims of exclusion within the group and the circulation of private messages. No independent evidence supporting the allegations involving Linder has been made public, and both Cenat and Linder have denied them. The matter remains unresolved.
