Iggy Azalea Opens Up About Uncomfortable Conversation with Ye in 2012

Iggy Azalea recently shared details of an unsettling encounter with Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, that dates back to 2012. The Australian rapper, known for her bold persona and hits like “Fancy,” also addressed a fresh clash with Ye involving her son, while providing updates on her lucrative OnlyFans stint and her latest foray into online gambling. Here’s a deep dive into these chapters of Azalea’s multifaceted journey.

During a livestream on Kick on March 20, 2025, Iggy Azalea recounted a peculiar and uncomfortable meeting with Ye that took place 13 years prior at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. At the time, Azalea was a 22-year-old artist on the rise, eager to discuss potential music collaborations with Ye, a figure she admired for his innovative artistry. What transpired, however, was far from a standard professional exchange.

According to Azalea, Ye invited her to the iconic venue under the pretense of a business meeting. Instead, she was met with an unexpected and bizarre presentation.

“He had a slideshow set up,”

    she explained in the livestream,

“and it was pornography mixed with pictures of me.”

The situation escalated when Ye made a startling confession. Azalea recalled his words vividly:

“He was like, ‘I look at your pictures every morning for inspiration.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s interesting to think that somebody that I really look up to looks at my pictures every morning for inspiration. That’s kind of cool.’ And then he was like, ‘Yeah, I jack off to them!’”

Her full statement from the livestream paints a picture of initial flattery turning to disbelief:

“I was like, ‘Oh, that’s interesting to think that somebody that I really look up to looks at my pictures every morning for inspiration. That’s kind of cool.’ And then he was like, ‘Yeah, I jack off to them!’ And I was just like, ‘Oh… okay.’ It was so weird because I’d never had a meeting like that at a label before. It was just so unprofessional, and I didn’t know how to process it at the time.”

Azalea described the encounter as a jarring departure from her expectations, leaving her stunned and unsure how to respond. For an artist who held Ye in high esteem, the revelation was a stark contrast to the creative dialogue she had hoped for, exposing a less polished side of the music industry.

Just days ago, Ye made tweets that pulled Azalea’s son Onyx, who is five years old, into his ongoing feud with rapper Playboi Carti, Onyx’s dad. Ye’s tweets that appeared to mock Carti’s lifestyle mentioned Onyx in a manner that Azalea found objectionable.

Taking to social media, Azalea fired back, demanding that Ye leave her child out of his disputes.

“Keep my son’s name out of your mouth,”

she wrote in a now-deleted post.

” You don’t get to bring up my kid to prove a point in your weird ass beefs.”

Ye’s response was characteristically brash and crude, reportedly dismissing her plea with an expletive-laden retort that only deepened the rift.

The exchange showcased Azalea’s maternal protectiveness and frustration with Ye’s boundary-violating behavior. It also set up her revisiting of the incident in 2012 as part of a larger narrative of uneasiness with the problematic artist.

Aside from her feud with Ye, Azalea has been causing waves elsewhere. She joined OnlyFans in January 2023 and created a creative endeavor called “Hotter Than Hell” that incorporated music, visuals, and exclusive material. It was a financially rewarding decision: in just 24 hours she made more than $307,000 and by her first anniversary saw her total earnings amount to $48 million, making her one of the top earners on the site.

Azalea’s OnlyFans success showcased her ability to leverage her brand and connect with fans in a new way. However, in late 2024, she announced her departure from the platform, surprising many. In a statement, she explained,

“I’ve loved exploring this side of creativity, but I’m ready to shift my energy to other passions, like my crypto projects and a new sex toy line I’m launching.”

Her exit marked the end of a lucrative chapter, but not her entrepreneurial spirit.

Azalea has transitioned to online betting with her newest venture. She launched Motherland in November 2024, a digital casino powered by cryptocurrency based on her own MOTHER token. Motherland has slots, poker, and sports betting in a combination of her love for blockchain and flair for dramatic business ventures.

As of March 2025, Azalea remains actively involved in promoting Motherland. She’s frequently touted the casino on social media, framing it as an innovative fusion of entertainment and finance.

“Motherland is about taking control and having fun on your terms,”

she said in a recent post. Industry observers note that her celebrity status and the MOTHER token’s growing traction have positioned the casino as a notable player in the online gaming space.
