Hip-Hop Fashion at the Grammy 2023 Awards

It’s the time of year when big fashion moments abound. Oscar night and the Golden Globes are the high-wattage events of the annual award season, but there’s something fun and fancy-free about the Grammy Awards red carpet. While the pop artist were the stars of the show, the Hip-Hop celebs gave them a run for their money.

Among the most standout style choices on the 2023 Grammys red carpet was Doja Cat. Who wore a vinyl, one-shoulder, and skintight black gown paired with long matching gloves from Atelier Versace. Bebe Rexha in hot pink twists from head to toe in Moschino by Jeremy Scott. And Taylor Swift in midnight blue two-piece sparkly skirts and tops from Roberto Cavalli, all dressed up in a retro Barbiecore aesthetic.

But this Black History Month Hip-Hop stars were breaking necks left and right. The Grammy 2023 red carpet was a hotbed of hip-hop stars. From Chyna to Quavo, through these stars alone, we know that hip-hop will never be forgotten.

Chyna wore a black, one-shoulder dress that was embellished with feathers. She also paired it with a matching pair of gloves and a flower choker. The star added winged eyeliner and a black wig with dangly earrings to her look and accessorized a pair of silver bracelets and necklaces.

The singer who was nominated for the song of the year for his track “Breaking Up” by his band Los del Rio, opted for a urban but bold outfit for the red carpet. He wore a multi-colored ombre denim jacket, light-washed jeans, and a white shirt. He also wore a grey cap and a pair of black shoes.

    Lizzo

The Grammy winner wore a bright rose coat with a lace dress underneath it. She paired the outfit with gloves and a pair of silver rings.

    Cardi B

The talented singer, who received an Album of the Year nomination for her debut LP Invasion Of Privacy, made a striking statement on the red carpet wearing a stunning ocean-blue couture gown created by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. The rapper wore this sexy look with strategically placed cutouts and a hood, which gave her a regal look from every angle.

    Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige, nominated for Best R ‘n’ B album and Best Rap Album for her new project, The Anti-hero, wore a silver dress with cut-out details on it. She paired the look with silver shoes, gold earrings, and a belt.
