Heidi Klum has teamed up with Apothic Wine on limited-edition Type ‘A’ Blood Bags designed to look like medical transfusion bags and meant to be filled with red wine for Halloween parties.
The two-pack of empty, resealable bags sells for $10.31 and arrives in a custom red cooler. Buyers are expected to fill them with Apothic Red, the brand’s signature blend. The bags carry labeling that references the wine and include authorization from Klum.
The first limited drop went live on September 17, 2026, at 10:31 p.m. ET through ApothicBloodTypeA.com. The price point and launch time nod to October 31. Availability is restricted to U.S. consumers 21 and older, while supplies last. Apothic has said a second drop will be announced on its social channels, with early clues pointing to the full moon.
Apothic is also an official sponsor of Klum’s 25th annual Halloween party. One fan and a guest can win a trip to the event by entering a sweepstakes on the same site through September 27. Entrants are asked to describe how they plan to celebrate Halloween with Apothic.
Klum, the German-American model and television host born June 1, 1973, in Bergisch Gladbach, has built a reputation for elaborate Halloween transformations and star-studded parties, often held in New York City. In a statement released with the campaign she said, “My Halloween motto has always been: go BIG or go home! I love that Apothic has so much fun with Halloween, and honestly, even the bottle feels like it was made for the holiday.”
Speaking to People about the timing of the collaboration and her own costume plans, Klum added, “It goes very well with red wine. It’s very, very bloody.” She described the blood-bag concept as fitting the holiday’s gory side: “A great glass of wine is always fun… and most of the time you think of something gory when you have a blood transfusion bag. That’s what Halloween is all about. We go gory, and we go there.”
Marshall Dawson, vice president of power and ascending brands at E&J Gallo, which owns Apothic, framed the release as a way to place the wine in adult party settings rather than as a new limited-edition wine itself. “This is not a limited-time-offer of a different product,” he said. “It’s a usage vehicle that connects with the idea that is fun, different, and occasion based.”
Apothic Red, a blend that includes Zinfandel, Syrah and Merlot, carries a suggested retail price of about $10.99 for a 750-milliliter bottle at 13.5 percent alcohol by volume. The brand has long leaned into dark, gothic imagery, and the partnership with Klum aims to heighten that association during the Halloween season while offering fans a collectible accessory and a shot at attending her milestone party.
The company notes that the bags are a Halloween collectible only and are not medical products or intended for medical use. Behind-the-scenes content from Klum, including costume clues and hosting tips, is scheduled to appear across Apothic’s social channels in the weeks leading up to October 31.
