Gregg Leakes: A Peaceful Transition
While NeNe shared the unfortunate news publicly during an outing at an Atlanta lounge days prior to her husband’s untimely passing. She appeared strong as she pleaded to the crowd.
“Please, everyone in this room, I didn’t plan on standing here and speaking into this microphone, but I have something important to share. I just want to find peace. When you see me and my son, show us your love and support, alright? My husband is going through a transition to the other side… We’re going through a lot right now, and it’s not easy.”
In fact, Gregg was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. He was doing well and in remission until June. His family watched him fight a hard battle.
Mourning in Private
Despite the public nature of their relationship, NeNe and the rest of the Leakes family deserve to mourn. During their 24-year marriage, the couple endured some ups and downs, yet in the end NeNe stood by Gregg’s side. In the meantime, the hope is that everyone respects their wishes.
According to TMZ, Gregg didn’t want a funeral, but wished to be cremated. Nevertheless, his family will organize a celebration of life for him in the future.
Rest In Peace to Gregg Leakes.
