In the era of clout chasers and cancel culture, Twitter has become a modern-day battleground for celebs and socialites alike. YouTubers, in particular, have a notorious reputation for throwing shade and stirring pots in pathetic attempts to get their name on that #trending list. The latest drama-show saw supermodels, YouTubers, and boy-bands come head to head online. Supermodel, Gigi Hadid, came at Youtuber Jake Paul’s neck after he decided to post what he calls a ‘drunk tweet.’
On Saturday night, Paul and Hadid’s boyfriend, Zayn Malik of One Direction, crossed paths in Las Vegas. They were both in Vegas to watch the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II fight, and it seems that Paul left feeling slighted by Zayn.
Later that night, Paul sent out some harsh words to Zayn via Twitter.
“Almost had to clap up zane from 1 direction because he is a little guy and has an attitude and basically told me to f–k off for no reason when I was being nice to him…Zane ik you’re reading this…stop being angry cause u came home alone to ur big ass hotel room, hahaha.”
Yikes! We’re assuming Jake Paul’s intentions of spelling Zayn’s name wrong was an attempt to stroke his ego. The post has since been deleted following the backlash.
Nonetheless, Gigi Hadid immediately fired back in her man’s defense.
“Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies ..? Home alone with his best friends like a respectful king cause he has me, sweetie,” she wrote. “Unbothered by your irrelevant ugly ass. Go to bed …”
Jake Paul is arguably one of social media’s most annoying celebs, so for this, we thank you, Gigi.
Following Hadid’s clap back, Paul took to twitter not to apologize to Zayn but to let us know that alcohol makes him act like an idiot. It’s always alcohol’s fault, isn’t it, Jake?
“Someone needs to take my phone when I’m drunk because I am a f–king idiot,” he tweeted Sunday night. Drunk or not, Jake Paul’s YouTube channel is enough to tell us what kind of person he is.
Zayn has not commented on the beef. And, as the calm, cool, and collected type-of-guy we know him to be, we don’t expect him to mention it any time soon.
